Anyone tried new Rollei BW film?

new rollei?

new rollei?

Well, maybe they are only new to me...
I refer to Rollei R3, Rollei PAN25, Rollei ORTHO 25 and Rollei Retro
It's new to me that they produce film at all.
Any comment would be appreciated
Their data sheets are here:

I don't think Rollei (but I could be wrong) produces any film. They put their name on film from film producers. The Rollei Retro is supposed to be the last of the AGFA APX-100.

Yep, the Rollei Retros are cut from AGFA's last APX mother rolls, so Retro 100 is APX100 and Retro 400 is APX400 (be aware that the 120 versions of the Rollei Retros are cut from mother rolls that were intended by AGFA for sheet film, so the base is slightly different from AGFA produced 120 emulsions, and the dev times vary a little.)

Rollei work closely with MACO, who manufacture most of the films for them, and AGFA's Belgian R&D department, which is still on the go having been spun off into a separate company years ago.

I Just ordered some of the Rollei Infrared film from Silverprint on recomendation, and its the only 120 size IR film you can get.
I have been told the same as the above re Rollei film and Agfa APX and agree: why pay the Rollei price when you can buy REAL APX for £17.50 for 10 from Silverprint?

I have used Rollei Retro 400 (or Agfa APX400 as mentioned above) and I'm glad with it, is smoother than the Tri-x in general.
Besides it cost only 1.7 € each (just bought 10 of them on a lovely wood box)!:D
Can't get any cheaper than this!!!:)

Link to some pictures with it on my Flickr:cool:

Edit - Wrong price is 2.70€ - Thanks Jon!

Jon,
You are correct, I bought the first ones from Jvalles and I did made a error on pricing them, is 2.70€ and not 1.70, I do apologise for the mistake and thank you for point it out.
BTW you can get them from www.photostock.fr at this 2.70€ price plus Post.(31€ - 10 with the wood box).

Efke IR820 is available too. It is sensitive a bit further in the ir spectrum than rollei.
