X100 Luigi half-case - pics

I couldn't find a thread about Luigi's half-case for the X100 so I thought I'd make one, if anyone is curious about it.

I'm very happy with the X100 but I really wanted a better grip, so I started looking around and found Luigi's "basic plus" half-case with built-in grip + strap.

I normally never use cases with my cameras but I'm loving it with this one. Apart from the much improved grip I really like the hanging rear door. Not only does it disguise the fact that I'm carrying around an expensive digital camera (several people have thought it was some old thing from the 70s) - it also makes me chimp less (I find the 1.5 second review in the finder really useful)

Never thought I'd pay that much for a case but in this case (hah..) I feel it's worth it... strap is nice too!

(Also added filter adapter+hood+UV filter - US seller rainbowimaging on eBay (no connection) sells the combination for $24)

Very cool case. I love Luigi's work. If I may ask..
- how do you find access to the side AF/MF slider? Is the cut out big enough to visually check the position of the slider button?
- also, is the bottom flap permenently attached or can it be removed?
- and, finally, what did it cost (with the strap)?
Thanks!

Access to AF/MF slider is no problem at all, it's big enough to check and set. Have a look at this picture.

Bottom flap is permanently attached, which I don't mind. If you buy the slightly more expensive non-basic model you can have it detachable.

$270 with the deluxe strap, plus $22 shipping, through eBay. Got it in less than a week - I suppose he makes them in batches and had it in stock.

Thank you for the quick reply, it is going to be hard to resist this one.. I've been using a case from Luigi's competition but it has tight cutouts for the slider button and for the AFL button, which I use a lot.

It's all about the grip - or so I told myself At first I was eyeing the thumbs up, but I just couldn't stomach the price (so I bought something even more expensive...).

I'd love to get one, I had a Luigi Basic case for my Bessa before I sold it and it was really nice. I think I will settle for another Zhou case, which isn't so bad.

Resistance was futile..

The grip on the case and the thumb rest allow for very comfortable one-handed shooting.
