Torn between two lenses

I shoot with a Planar 50/ 2.0 and a CV Color Skopar 35/ 2,5.
Feel somehow incomplete the wide angles concerning. Now
I have the possibility to purchase either a Color Skopar 28/ 3,5
or a Snapshot Skopar 25/ 4. I don't know what to do- some help
from you, guys, especially about the photografic performance?

both are good lenses, the 28/3.5 has a bit of a cult status and the price reflects this. they are discontinued and only available used. it's a very sharp and well made lens.
the 25 is still available new, is sharp but has not attained anything close to a cult status.
the 28 is a very popular fov on the rd1...many users have a 28.
i use a 21 and recently bought another 25...i do not care for the 28 fov on the rd1...not sure why but i think i do better with a 25. you can't go wrong with either...

If you have access to a 28 3.5 Skopar, I suggest to get it it. It's quite rare to see this in any buy and sell fora niot to mention it delivers great results as well.

Go for the 28,then u won't worry about framing on the rd 1 if u don't like an external vf.

Didn't make a decision so far-
probably I'll take the 'snapshot' ...

I use the Skopar 28 on the Ricoh GXR-M (same format as the R=D1) and the M9. On the M9, the Skopar needs a bit of CornerFix massaging to produce the best results (there's a bit of color shifting and corner falloff otherwise). On the GXR, it performs flawlessly.

Great little lens, a very nice choice for APS-C format IMO.

Ricoh GXR-M + Skopar 28mm f/3.5

The die is cast. I ordered the 'Color Skopar'.
Thank you very much for your attention!

Huge fan of the 28mm color skopar. It was my go to lens on the M8. I personally would get the newer m mount 25mm over the snapshot skopar. However, I'd take the 28mm over all of them. I've had 4 different ones and not a lemon in the bunch.

i'd say get the wider, to have a more different field of view than the ones you already have.

i'm particularly a fan of how the 12mm goes with the R-D1... 18mm equiv field of view, complements a ~53mm and a ~75mm quite well.

I'd opt for the 25mm if you're already shooting with a 35 and 50.

The 25mm Snapshot-Skopar is fun, but the 28mm Color-Skopar is beautiful. You could compromise and take the M-mount 25mm Color-Skopar, which is readily available and offers rangefinder coupling.
