Bag stolen with Leica equipment in London

Hi all, I am not sure if this is the best forum to report my stolen bag. Just now in Londen at the big redbar on Holoway road in Islington. It contained my macbook air 11", Leica M9 (black), Leitz summilux 35/1.4 pre asph, Leitz summilux 50/1.4 pre asph. In a black thinkthank retro 10 bag.

Please keep an eye out, and if you have any recommendations where it would be good to post the serial numbers e.d., it is appreciated.

Wow...that REALLY sucks. Good luck tracking it down. I would file a police report immediately with the serial numbers if you have them; that will at least dissuade pawn shops (hopefully).

If you contact Leica too I recall that they have (or had?) a list which is sent to repair centres - which might help in the future at least.

Man, that blows. No words could properly express.
Do you mind if I ask how they stole it? Just to educate the rest of us.
I am sending out vindictive energy waves to the thief right now.

That's terrible. I hope it gets back to you eventually.

It's not much use now, but in future I recommend every Macbook user to keep something like Undercover installed in case of theft.

This may be of use too, since an M9 was in the bag: http://www.stolencamerafinder.com/

Very good tip, get online asap and see if somebody's accessing the internet on your MacBook! You can see their location!

That's why I like living in Japan. Last year I accidentally left my bag with my notebook and Leica gear on a bench in a Tokyo subway station at the morning rush hour. I returned after an hour and found the bag exactly where I had left it.

If you were in London on holiday, and you booked your flight with a decent credit card, see if the card issuer provides insurance, you might be covered for the theft.

I hope you get things worked out.

See if the place has a security camera near the entrance.

Sorry to hear that. I was only watching a TV programme two nights ago about pickpockets and thieves working in London on the streets, tubes and in Pubs, etc.
They take a bag in an instant without you even noticing! The Redbar may have the theft on cctv.
I hope you are fully insured!

London is rife with pickpockets, I'm afraid. Nothing leaves my person when I'm there.

Get a police report, if you didn't already. I know that effs up your vacay, but...it can only help.

Sorry to hear about this, and I sincerely hope your items are recovered speedily.

It may be worthwhile contacting some of the London Leica dealers and passing details of the items and serial numbers to them too.

Everyone, thank you so much for your support an advice. I really appreciate it. It was stolen when I was sitting on a table outside of the big red bar in London Islington. I hope that insurance covers it.
