I can just about taste those.
Really have been enjoying mine. Wondering why I bother with other digitals...maybe I'll just use this and a couple of film cameras....  |

i feel the same way...though it feels silly to walk around with this tiny thing when my buds are shooting these long lenses on behemoths next to me.

Really this what I'm doing now. The RX100 is in the same small bag as my M6 with 28/35 lenses. I sold my DLux 5 and X100 is in a local ads on sale now. The OMD + the fine M43 primes will be used for fast moving events and some serious shoots. It's in my dry cabinet and has not seen action for some time. Cheers!

Oh dear Joe, yoo've done it again. Having seen yours and others shots here, I went an ordered the Sony. Ive got the Fuji X10 and its given me some very good shots but I don't like it as much as my X100 or GRD IV so I'm gonna sell it. Also ordered the Franiec grip. Had one on my Canon G7 and it made a vast difference. Hopefully the camera will be here in the next few days and I'll get chance to shoot it at the Manchester Pride Parade on Saturday.

Liking the quality of the images Joe even though only jpegs. They can still handle some manipulation in LR3. Still trying to get used to the handling and how best to set the various to suit me. So far though I'm impressed. |

I've just got had one on loan and this is the most impressed I've ever been with a fixed zoom camera.
Just a first impression but I feel Sony finally has a winner in the compact market; they've -really- nailed it with the IQ and overall operation/AF/shooting speed.
What sets it apart from other ambitious cameras in this segment IMO is that they've somehow managed to keep the size down.
I find my self contemplating selling off my X-Pro1 kit and just picking up one of these.
I've only been using the XP1 as a snapshot camera recently and it's a waste. The RX100 would fill the role much better.
Edit: I wanted to add that you can bounce the flash off the ceiling by holding the flash head back on it's hinge. I don't know if it's an intended feature but it's pretty awesome all the same.

How does the AF speed of the RX100 compare to the GRDIV? Other comments comparing both directly?
