Bought 4 X 4 rolls so far. In the past the 800 ISO seems to work well at 400 ISO.

+1 on get while the gettings good. Mine's had the Kodak on closeout sale for weeks now, but there's none left on the racks.

They've also been selling their Walgreens brand 400 for like 5 bucks for 4 rolls. It's Fuji and just expired, I'm sure it's fine.

thanks for the heads up. gotta go check out the local store. if thats the ultramaxx 800, its pretty similar to portra. very fine grain and colors still pop, even when shot at 800.

Any idea if this is a national Walgreen's thing or just a local sale?

It is not Ultra, it is Gold. Do not know if it is a national thing.

Ace hardware had the paint type I wanted for $10 a gallon, but they were out of the color I wanted....
So I went to Sherwin Williams down the street, and they had the brand and color I wanted.... for $20 a gallon. I complained that Ace had the paint priced on sale at $10 a gallon.
The Sherwin clerk asked my why I didn't buy it there. I explained that Ace was out of the color I wanted.

The Sherwin clerk said... "Oh hell, If I didn't have what you wanted, I'd sell it to your for $10 a gallon too!!"

Film is getting like that??? Huh?

i got a four-roll pack of walgreens color iso 200 last week for $4 or so. probably ought to get some more even though i'm mostly a BW guy. hey, 24 exposures for $1? hard to beat, color or BW. and my walgreens does a good job of processing, and leaving my film uncut ...

Those of you whose Walgreens have the sale, mind posting your city, or just state? I'll swing by a Walgreens tonight as well.

Walgreens in Saukville, WI. was selling (giving away?) individually boxed rolls of their branded 800 for $1.24 per roll on clearance.

I grabbed a few, of course now they're all gone . . . . . . ..

Dallas, TX - I just visited 4 Walgreens and only one store had any in stock - just one package of 4 rolls. Somebody beat me to the other stores, I guess. Was recently in Grand Junction, Colorado, and a Walgreens store had the same sale going on there - that was two weeks ago.

I haven't checked the Walgreens, but my closest Kroger dumped their film display when they reconfigured the store, and sold all the film on clearance. I bought all I could find (including the last BW400CN I'll ever see), and then they put the display back up, even though they were still putting perfectly good film on clearance. Then they took the display down again, and it may be permanent this time. However, I went to a different Kroger yesterday, and they had plenty of film for sale. It may just be a local or regional thing of certain stores not carrying film, or even certain brands, as their distributers dry up their supplies.

Just wondering... Is anyone worried yet that stocking up on color film when processors are closing up shop might not be a great strategy? Or is everyone here assuming there will be processing available for as long as those frozen supplies last? Thoughts?

I can still get C-41 process only, un-cut negs for $2.19 a roll (CVS Pharmacy). I've a stash of Walgreen's color neg house brand (Fuji) from last summer's Walgreens sale (rolls of 200/400/800 were $1 a roll). I shoot a roll a week or so, almost down to nil, might have to grab some more....

Thanks kshapero for the tip, will have to do another stock up. Last summer I bought a ton of their house brand 200/400/800 (rebrand Fuji) and it was stellar!

There will be processing available for a long time, provided you are willing to do it yourself.
