Digital leica M cameras are not as tough as you think it should be.
These leica lens are not water proof at all.

It doesn't stop me from using my camera of choice where and when I want to. I don't baby my gear. They're tools I put to use no matter what the weather is like. If only you saw what i put my old M9 through - much worse than this, so I know the Monochrom can take it - and it did!

Thats the attitude, you should see the looks of shock I get walking in the rain with my D800. So far so good, baby keeps clicking.

Any specific shots from the rain day up?

Lusted for a Leica for years, finally took the plunge a few months ago as a graduation present to myself.

Peek-a-boo. The sun hit the M4 just right while the bag rested on a table.

Gloriously blown highlights and sexy flare courtesy of the trusty (and scratched up) Blackberry camera

This was in Yokohama, at the Aka-Renga Suko, with Tom A., SimonsawSunlight, Benny, Jon, Bellamy, FlyingFrogman(from flirck) and me..

It somehow developed a regular meet with Tom A at Yokohama once a year..

Thanks Rob. Tom was hard to miss for the photovest, I recognized Simons M2 with the rapidwinder and blistering black paint

Gotta say I envy you guys meeting like that. It's not that I'm not happy to have met the members I did meet, I'd just really like to meet some more folks from the forum!

Oh well, back to the Leica M's:

Unusual Leica M4

Unusual Leica M4. No Self Timer No preview lever. Came from the factory this way, as when I removed the skin there was no evidence of them ever being there.

Cameraleather.com Mahagony Kid Skin, Gordy Strap with brass split rings, match Technical Dragon Red Boob. Leica M6 Rubber finder eyepiece. M3 advance lever. M3 Lens release guard. 8 Element Summicron Version 1. Camera and lens both purchased on the forum and I've spent the last 2 months pimping it out. I'm really quite in love with it and love not having the self timer and preview lever.

That's interesting, I've never seen an M4 like that. I like the clean M2-ish look!

@leicamshooter: did you install that lens-release shroud yourself, or was that on the camera?

I have an M2 and M4 and am always at risk of releasing my lenses because my fingers always find the button so I'd be highly interested in installing those on my camera's!
