For a change a few shots from the city at daylight:

Bastille Day in NYC today, unfortunately not a lucky day for La Tricolore in soccer.

Left on a trip the end of June to trace some family history in Poland and also for a return visit to Prague. Brought the 246 and a 240 with a 28'cron and 50'lux. Here's a handful of the ones I came back with from the monochrom I was pleased with. There are a ton more pictures in the flickr album if you're at all interested.

I am not sure if I was able to take pictures at these places if it was my family being murdered there. I can't imagine the pain...
I was long thinking about how to comment, thanks for sharing.
All my stuff looks so irrelevant in comparison.

Klaus, thanks so much for your comment.

Thankfully, my family escaped the Tykocin Pogrom as they emigrated to the US prior to WWII. I may have had one family member go through Auschwitz, but as the story goes, he escaped thanks to a bribe of a diamond from his wife's engagement ring. Though I've never been able to verify that story.

Regardless, it was a very moving trip for me. There were certain areas we visited I most certainly could not bring a camera to my eye.

As to relevancy, one reason I feel compelled to travel, especially on trips like this one, is to search for perspective. Returning home from a trip I'm always humbled by how fortunate and blessed we are and how things that are seemingly so important and can cause so much drama, are just insignificance.

I'm not a music photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but my wife and I went to a house party last night, and there was a great jazz quintet there playing.

What are you guys using these days for b+w software? I'm going to have to move from Silver Efex Pro 2, as I just updated my OS and it no longer works. Has anyone tried Tonality? I'm hoping to find something that is at least as good as SEP2.

I use photoshop CS6. Camera raw converter for the DNG file then change it to RGB and tweak image color.

Vince,
I never warmed up to LR or Silver Efex. I use Adobe RAW and convert to tiff and tweak in CS6.

Still very satisfied with LR and Silver Efex. I recently went to Windows 10 and lost a few LR plug-ins, but Silver Efex is fine.

I can't imagine that product will move forward at all now, so I am also interested in other options.

Thank you. They were taken in blazing mid-day sun, and I was surprised at the outcome, especailly of the second one.

I use LR4.2 64bit under Windows7 pro and I do very little processing. I played around with SFX early on and didn't really like it. I have downloaded LR6 for processing the Q files and for whatever reason I like the 4.2 version better. Maybe it's just being used to something. In general I hate when they change things around just for sake of making it look different for the new version and the usability doesn't get improve a single iota or it gets even worse. Just my grumpy $0.02

So I had a temporary false alarm -- I know that Nik/Google had recently released the collection as a free download, and I figured that I had the same version as the one you could download. Well I took a chance, downloaded the collection and it works! Only thing is that I don't think they're going to be updating it any further, which is a shame as I really enjoy the versatility of it. I tried a demo of 'Tonality' this morning, and it doesn't have nearly the features that SEP2 does.

BTW I am using OS 10.11.6, which I just upgraded to, and it's been a big headache for me. A bit of a lesson for me for not keeping up with all the software updates.

Finally had a chance to get out with the 21/3.4 SA today. Will need to practice on cleaning up the vignetting with this gem, but I didn't do too bad with exposures.
