DwF, somehow I missed this thread posting. It's a wonderful subject, great angle, and especially lovely processing. A middle gray lover's dream.

DOF Yes, it takes a guitarist to photograph one! This guitar was a surprise Christmas gift and she was a happy camper

John Wolf- I find myself stopping and noticing old posts I somehow missed- there are just so many images on RFF. I am having my ups and downs figuring out the MM but felt like the tonality of this one was what I was after. I thank you! And congratulations on your image with boy in Plaza- this is a really striking image!

During X-mas vacation I took mostly family pictures which I don't post here (or anywhere public for that matter...).
So here a shot from a rainy afternoon but it fits the subject, I think.
Planar 2/50, wide open and close up.

sorry for posting 2 in a row, but just got back from a trip and was interested to see what I came back with.

always been fascinated with the landscape right around the CO & UT border. First time that I've actually been able to get a good glimpse of the Paradox valley too. Either been on the wrong side of the plane, bad weather, dark, asleep, or just never flew over it.

I just received my MM from Leica NJ with a new sensor, cover, and adjustments. I thought I'd welcome it back with a new lens -- something I have not used in years -- a 90mm. I figured I'd keep the experiment low cost and found a good deal on a Voigtlander Lanthar. I think it will be a nice change sometimes.

Congratulations John, that has to feel good! I'm jealous, except I can see sending my camera now because it seems free of the crud.

Nice parting shot w your new 90

Thanks, David. Mine didn't have any obvious corrosion. Sometimes it would get spots with the telltale white rings, but they always cleaned off. Once winter arrived I thought I'd send it off and have it checked.

This lens renders so differently than my Zeiss lenses. But I thiink I prefer this more classic look and may now look for something comparable in 35 or 50. Endless, isn't it?

Three and a half weeks with the MM246...

I have had my MM246 for nearly 4 weeks and use it at every opportunity.
Here are a few shots that I have taken so far...

I should probably just send mine in and work it around when I won't be traveling so either really soon or I will wait until the fall to do it.

As for lenses, there are too many possibilities! For me in the 35, and 50 department, I've been happy with plain-jane Summicrons but last summer picking up the 50 Sonnar, it became the body-cap for months. I did play with the CV 75 1.8 a while back and that is one I may pick up before too long.

I visited my son in Tucson over the weekend. While there we went to the still life show at the CCP - Flowers, Fruit, Books, Bones. Lots of nice work from greats like Kertesz, Ralph Gibson, and many others.

Below, a still life of my own from my son's house. Such beautiful light out there, and so different from that of the Midwest.

I know what you mean, though I got rid of my darkroom a number of years ago, selling off the equipment to finance a Leica M9-P amongst other things.
Having the MM246 is like having a darkroom in my camera bag. I had once pondered getting a film camera with a view to developing my own B&W negs again and scanning them, but now I wonder 'why would I want to do that'?
