I did, in August, it arrived very late and after one complain e-mail it arrived promptly. The product (griptac) is very nice, certainly an upgrade from the original ZI covering.

I've trusted Morgan for years but never again. He still owes me a snake skin for my m9 that I paid for in November 2011. He has not responded to my emails. I got on well with him and love his products but no longer trust him.

Buyer beware.

i emailed MANY times asking for at least some information, NO REPLY. I asked for a refund, NEVER RECEIVED that either.

after months of begging for an answer i have basically given up on hoping to ever see my cover (which i no longer need, since i just sold that camera!), nor my money.

i am glad to report that there is a happy ending to my saga; it appears that cameraleather has had some technical issues with their email system in the last few months, which would explain the lack of response to all my emails (and many other people, evidently!).

Morgan emailed me today apologizing for the delay and informing me that he is not only shipping the cover, but also refunding my payment.

given the excellent service i always had before, and the quality of his product, i will definitely keep buying from him.

For what it's worth, Aki-Asahi delivers reliably, quickly, and sent along, in addition, a second alternate color gratis.

aki-asahi is very good however their cuts are not as good as Morgan. The leathers I ordered fit very tightly on the cameras (all leica Ms). They don't have as many selection as Cameraleather either. Service is top notch from aki-asahi.

I've use both on many occasions, and as much as I love Morgan and his product, I find that his stuff doesnt fit as perfectly as Rikuo's. Though Ive never used any of Rikuo's die cut skins. Ive only used the laser cut stuff, which have been spot on perfect. With Morgan's I find that a lot of times, Ive had to either cut edges down to fit, or have had to ask him for replacement pieces. Which he is more then happy to do. And it only takes a few seconds for cutting, so no biggie.

I think they're both wonderful, and both have their place in their craft. Like most have said, if you want something really special and dont mind waiting, go to Cameraleather, if you need something simple and fast, wood veneer, or for modern cameras, Aki-Asahi.

I don't wish to be overly pessimistic but the problems have been ongoing for more than a few months and he has given the "unreliable email" excuse in the past. I hope you eventually get your skin, but for me, never again.

Got my R-D1 grip-tac today, inside a small apology note and some extra material, i'm still satisfied though. I feel for those who waited months too, but, i'm still happy. Perhaps will get another skin sometime.

Ordered leather for my Canonet and SP in december (....OK I know it's not that long, but if one wants to do business he has to do it correctly, period!).

I sent numerous mails but I got absolutely no replies.

Escalated to a claimwith paypal now, but unfortunately I was too late to file the claim for the first order for the Canonet.

This makes me sorry because the guy could make a lot of money as he is virtually the only one worldwide selling pre-cut coverings for lots of cameras. OK there is Aki Asahi, but his camera models are quite limited.....

I would hate to have to try and cut from sheet-leather.

Shall I wait and hope or just press paypal to get (part of) my money back?

At this point, wait. Not so great customer service, but a nice quality product. You're past the point of customer service, so you might as well benefit from the product.

I recently ordered from both Rikuo and Morgan. I didn't know what to expect from either, and wanted to check them out. I ordered eyepiece patches from Rikuo, and two Griptac kits from Morgan. Both returned my emails quickly. Morgan answered some questions about a potential future covering within a day or two. I did the expedited shipping from cameraleather and received it right on time. Aki Asahi was a bit slower, but they're shipping from Japan, and my local post office always slows down stuff from abroad for me. Rikuo's discount on multiple orders was nice, as well as the extra patch in each kit!

Over all, I am very pleased with both. I will definitely be ordering from them again, depending on who has what I need at the moment.

I previously had a long wait with cameraleather, which I mentioned above in this thread. To be fair I should also mention that I recently placed an order on Jan 19th for 2-tlr skins and I received them today, Feb 7th. I know there's a lot of reason to be skeptical but hopefully this is a sign things are getting better.

So, you place an order with Cameraleather.

Then forget about it.

Surprise, one day is actually comes and it's perfect!

Sometimes you just deal with what you've got, and hope it turns out.

I received the kit for the old Yashicamat (meterless yellow ring) from cameraleather.com today. I ordered it on the 5th. That is 6 days ago.

He provided two back pieces, one with and one without the screw holes. there is also one blank piece that seems to be extra, but is not big enough to do any of the main panels. The hole in the top piece is 17mm, but I measure the logo as 16mm, so I may need that extra. On the other hand it may be close enough.

This is the basic VH Black Leatherette cover, not the exotic stuff you guys have been ordering. But, I think that was good service.
