I don't see anything wrong with capping the list at 50.

I vote #1 as well. Although I'm hoping it doesn't go past 60... that's what I ordered.

#1 works for me as well.
FYI vistaprint has their postcards at 50% off until June 15.
They have three card stock options: standard, premium and recycled. Recycled is 100lb weight and with a matte finish. The other two are glossy for the image side.

If you can't find the code for it on vistaprint.com let me know and I'll post them here.

I'm for option #1. If the list got too large (over 60?) that might create a cost barrier for some members on low incomes.

I was at the Kyrgyz post office today and since it's international mail and all of you are outside the former Soviet Union and postcards have turned into a bit of a boutique item over here, it may turn into a $200 exercise for me as it is. So I'm for capping at 50. If anyone feels left out they can get on Part Trois.

Maybe it would be cheaper for you to use a "proxy": get the cards, write your text and target addresses on them and send the whole package to a fellow ref-member, who lives somewhere, where sending is much cheaper. You pay him for the stamps, and he puts them on (which is a 3 minute effort) and sends them.

Don't know, if this is doable, but if I can help...

Thanks for the suggestion, it's certainly doable. Bonus is that they might actually be delivered in time - the record here seems to be a postcard from Kyrgyzstan to Ghana that took eight months, you can be faster than that on foot. Disadvantage is that you don't get the Kyrgyz postage stamp.

I am for Option 1, and do plan to send one to everyone on the mailing list.

Do appreciate the cost concern and would not be slighted if someone had to limit the number they sent to 50. It's all good and as many people who want to participate should do so without putting stress into there lives.

The last post card project was a lot of fun and enjoyed the process of producing and sending the cards. Writting a note and addressing each one was a process and will not attempt to do that in one sitting again, it will be spread out over a few days. Receivng everyones cards over a several week period was great with a little anticipation each day that there would be a new card waiting in the mailbox when arriving home.

I used MOO last time and will do so again.

I enjoyed each and every picture that I recieived, some thick, some thin, some printed on regular photo paper stock and sent in an envelope.

It's all good, in nine days we get the mailing list and final count.

Thanks Rob for coordinating this once again!

I'm in for option #1. A little extra cost yes, but I would say I like you all enough to send you a postcard. Granted I don't really know you yet, but maybe a postcard will be the icebreaker needed.

I could live with that if the advantage is, that we get your picture and you are able to participate.

I would like option #1. I'm assuming if another choice is selected it would be up to us to mail to everyone if we wanted too.

I used Moo also, received 60 a few days ago. I don't mind reordering if there are more than 60.

Just e-mailed my info. I want a part in all the fun!

On a related matter, I assume MOO only works for people in the US?

I'm just going to go with the flow. I've got a budget defined, and if it doesn't go much higher than 60 and more than 1/4 or 1/3rd intl. I should be fine.

I actually love getting the Intl. ones. Last round, getting the stamp from the "Island of Sodor" was worth the the whole project. Prior to getting that one, the kids thought there was no "Island of Sodor" Now they know the UK/England is a bunch of stick people, with talking steam and diesel engines with big faces, and the folks wearing red, slightly lead toxic

Since I'm doing budget printing (Costco 4x6's with stamped Hobby Lobby stamper), if anyone can only budget 50 or whatever, please feel free to leave me out. I'm totally OK with it, and the ones doing contact darkroom printing, moo and other heavy and expensive options should be the ones to get all.

BTW, I've previously done print swaps where I've sent out a half dozen prints and gotten 3 or 4 back, and felt good about this.

The last round here was way over 90%, maybe even 95% of the participants following through, which was an unexpectedly great followthrough.

I'd also be up for a Communist type experiment where we all send Rob our images and the funds that we feel like we can afford, along with a roll of TP and any excess Chinese or Russian loose ammo lying around. Rob then, after acquiring an AK47 to protect our project, uses what's left over to print and send the images, all of the same quality print, to everyone, ... eventually ... until there is unrest ... I could go on ... but I don't think this will be viable

No clue what I am getting myself into, but if so many RFF members have played this game, I want in.
