...but I will keep trying.

Exploring digital black & white conversion. This time with a touch of warm tone. Fence in Gruene, Texas.

Beautiful images, some very hard work went into these and it is appreciated.

Discussions regarding film vs digital- belong in that forum, and not on the W/NW forum.

I've worked out that after looking through this thread I can't do digital black and white to save myself. There's some very good images here IMO.

Has anyone posted any black and white images from a DP-1 or DP-2 here yet?

I seem to remember seeing some in the dedicated thread for that camera that were very nice indeed and possibly the least digital looking black and whites I've ever seen here.

Thanks, mob81; the photo was captured with one of a very small handful of digital systems that I am happy with for black and white conversions and probably the only digital system that I have had even the smallest hint of regret selling.

This is a composite of four BW conversions of a photograph that was originally shot in color. No ordinary bw film could have possibly delivered exactly this result. The original picture had a multicolored illumination and showed blatant, screaming and glaring colors all over the spectrum. The secret behind this picture is that the four conversions mimicked four drastically different spectral 'film sensitivities'.

This picture suffers from downscaling effects - the two people are perfectly focused - all you see is motion blur.
