Hey All, I e-mailed Tim Isaac about getting a Thumbs Up 1 for my M2 but he has never made one for an M2. He is concerned that the Cold Shoe width is smaller than the M8.

My dilemma is that my M2 is currently on it's way to me in China and is over the Pacific as we speak. Since I can't measure it myself, I was wondering if any of you M2 owners who are handy with the calipers could measure yours for me.

Thanks for the help
Vance

I have the Thumbs up and often mount it on my M2's. There are variations in the width of the shoe, but not enough to worry about. It will fit all of them. The biggest problem is that the M2's are old and often have been bashed around a bit and sometimes the top "rail" of the shoe can be slightly bent and make it difficult to remove or insert Thumbs Up's and finders.

18.5mm wide (2 samples) -- identical to Bessa R-2 (1 sample). The M2 shoe is however a millimetre or two deeper, front-to-back.

But ALL my Leicas hold finders, etc. tighter than ANY of my ZI or Bessa.

Cheers,

R.
