Nothing like that EVER shows up in any thrift shop where I live. The employees take anything of value and ebay it before it ever makes it to the sales floor.
You got an INCREDIBLE deal. The OM-4T is the best OM camera, you'll love it. OM cameras are NOT unreliable. The OM-2S ate batteries too fast, but it was reliable and didn't break down. The 4t had no common problems at all.
