M8 Photos

I swap the red and blue channels in photoshop, then adjust the hue of the blue from cyan to a dark blue. Requires the trees to be lit by strong sunlight otherwise they don't look so white, which adds to the contrast.

The purpose of the M8, in my case, is to go back to the shooting experience just like with film (which I prefer to digital, anytime!). See with the heart, aim, capture.

For anythng else, I have my Nikon iDiot system ;)
You are my man ! I have the M8 for just the same purpose. You can adjust the M8 images to come out of the camera just the way you like. Mostly I shoot BW Jpeg and RAW simultaneously. If I "disagree" on what M 8 gives me out of the camera, I can always tweak the raw image. I see the M8 more like a digital "Polaroid" I always carry the analog M3 & m4 rapidwinders also with me when doing street shooting. If i go "serious" then I carry just the hassy with CFV...

Clever! Swapping the channels! Thanks!! :)

Yes, I knew about the contrast.

Just google false colour IR, there are lots of amazing photos and tutorials. Most people don't realise that the M8 is the perfect IR camera because of the rangefinder focusing. Doing handheld IR is just so amazing. Enjoy

Yep, this is true. With the Heliopan RG715 i loose about 5 stops, but i can still handheld the M8, due to her amazing IR sensitivity. It's a nice filter to try out new things. The swap channels is a good trick to achieve a good look.

And in B&W it's cool too.

Cheers!

Yes, handheld IR is fun. I have done this with my rebuilt (for IR) Canon G3.
And now with my M8. ;)

looks out of another time Jean-Marc ;-)

I am curious about this "mottled" looking flare - do these resemble hazy areas on the front element of the lens?
