Looks wonky to me! If you just bought it, I'd return it for another one, with a request to inspect before shipping. OTOH, it might be a very simple adjustment. Others certainly will know better than I. Maybe you should email Stephen Gandy and ask?

Regards!
Don

Very wonky! I have no idea about that... FYI, Stephen Gandy is on vacation until March 2.

Yes you can fix it yourself, I had the same thing happen to mine about a year ago. If I rember right you'll need a jewelers phillps to unscrew the two screws. The view finder comes apart and goes back together with no problems. Once you have the viewfinder open, you'll see exactly what to do. Good luck. Mike

I posted this sometime back:
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21044

When I put the thing back, I stuck some thin double-sided tape to the edges of the lens elements and that was much better. Be careful of the orientation of all the parts. I screwed up mine initially.

I'm glad I saw this. I never thought of something like this happening. That's your next photo assignment - frame everything using the finder's messed-up orientation for a roll. Everything skewed from your usual vision by the same angle.

I agree with David. Shoot a roll using the orientation of the finder.

On the other hand, you could drop in on your favorite pub for a couple of hours and that thing is likely to straighten itself out.

I fixed the VF today, it's very easy to open the case. The construction is so simple, just rotate the lens and it's in the right place now.

I just wonder is that possible that I add a simple marking to show the 28 framing.
As I just bought a GR Digital and looking for a 28VF. :D
