The SL I pictured here has a rubber focusing grip. The SL II with same optics and all metal focusing grip is $539. I cannot recommend this lens enough, I love it.

Have a look at my flickr to see what I've been using it for.

My one advice would be to upgrade your focus screen, which is a simple & cheap process.
