Having a little sale. I have other 28s, I have other 35s. I'm shooting a lot with the M9 but haven't put a roll through the M6 in over a year (a disgrace, I know).
Prices exclude postage. I'm happy to cover PayPal fees. Any questions/offers, let me know.
Leica M6 with custom leatherette and boxed matching Winder - SOLD
The Leica M6 needs no introduction. It lies in the perfect intersection between the classic M era and the modern metered M era. You get all the solidity and reliability of the classic all mechanical design, but with accurate and intuitive metering.
This set involves matching body and winder, with custom leatherette.
The working condition of the body is perfect. The viewfinder is clear, the shutter speeds accurate, the metering LEDs bright and clear. I have fitted brand new Duracell LR44s. Cosmetic condition is excellent, with some areas naturally showing areas of use. The clearest signs are some lovely (to my eyes) wear around the strap lugs. There are also some areas of a slight raised patina, most notably the film cover at the rear. The baseplate has a protective film attached. The leatherette has been fitted nicely. Inside looks very good. The film plate is perfect, the shutter curtains are perfect. Please see photos.
The winder is similarly nice. Only very minor signs of wear. It comes in its original box, in good condition. It snaps into place very securely, and fires along nicely. If you haven't used an M with a motor winder, it can be easy to dismiss it as anathema to the discreet rangefinder way of shooting, but in reality it provides a nice option. As much as a film wind acts as a nice punctuation between shots, sometimes with rapidly changing action, being every ready to shoot in a sequence is powerful. Even when attached, the winder can be set to an 'off' position to prevent auto winding. The photographer can then either wind manually and quietly, or quickly flick the winder switch across to have a rapid wind without interrupting the right hand.
Konica M-Hexanon 28mm f2.8 Leica M-mount lens, boxed, superb - was £500, now £480
This is simply a superb compact wide-angle rangefinder lens. A great performer, including wide open and in the corners. It is really up there with the Leica lenses in this focal length. Leica-M mount. Super smooth focus, positive aperture ring. Barely a trace of use, optically perfect. Very well looked after, and complete with original caps, pouch and box.
It’s native mount is Leica-M, but needless to say it can adapted to Sony, Fuji, other mirrorless etc.
Canon 35mm f2 Leica Screw (LTM) lens - The "Japanese Summicron” - was £300 now £290
This is a stellar lens, rightly spoken of in the same company as the Leica 35mm Summicron. It is perfect for street shooting, urban landscapes, low light candid group portraiture…etc, etc. These come up fairly regularly in Japan, but they are getting rarer in the UK/EU.
I can’t say it better than it’s been said before: http://www.dantestella.com/technical/canoleic.html
It’s native mount is LTM, but needless to say it can adapted to Leica M, Sony, Fuji, other mirrorless etc. It comes complete with original front cap and generic rear cap. Condition is mostly excellent, especially for its age. Cosmetically it looks really nice. The black is very black and the silver is very silver. There is no wear of note. Optically it is not quite perfect. Yes, there is a little dust internally, but also some minor what looks like coating loss on the very edges of the front element. I believe this to have no discernible effect on image quality - I’ve always got sharp and contrasty images from the lens, most recently on an M9. Aperture blades are good. Focus is smooth and consistent. Aperture selection is click and positive.

Very nice kit. I really like those early M6s without the lug protectors.
