Big and dense, this is the heaviest lens in the Leica M lineup. The Noctilux ASPH is a substantial step up from the old, Mandler Noctilux with smoother bokeh, better overall contrast and better performance wide open across the frame. Note that the lens is a world-class performer stopped down, and can be used for critical photography from F4 onwards.
IMO the lens is a bit like a "super-Summilux ASPH" in that it renders extremely similar to the 50lux ASPH at F1.4. But the lens also has an extra stop of OOF and light gathering, which may or may not be useful to the photographer, depending on the shooting style and subject.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Great lens but if you think the Otus is overpriced then this is out of reach for many. Not to mention it does not perform that well wide open compared to other fast lenses. You are much better off with a 1.4 or 1.2 ans shooting higher ISO if needed. There is definitely no ROI on this product except for Leica.
