I got my 85mm 1.7 MD new, in 1983, so I have the dedicated hood that came with it. I had wanted an 85 for awhile and it has been my favorite lens the whole time I've had it. I think it was...

Nokton48, I like that "Star Wars" shot, too!

My understanding is that early 85mm 1.7 MC lenses had a thorium or other radioactive element, while late MC and MD lenses were reformulated without it....

Dennis, which version of the 100mm 2.5 lens are you referring to (the MC version with 6 elements or the MD version with 5 and more advanced lens coating)?

Beautiful kit, Will! I would love to have a black-body SR-T, and that one appears to be in incredibly like-new condition. My favorite lens is the 85mm 1.7, which looks like it must share a casing...

I love this thread!

I've long loved the SR-Ts. I came back to the States from Europe in 1981 (the last year for the SR-T line) and I wanted to buy an SR-T 201, but I had to get a job and take care...

Hi Cork -

I've never actually handled an XD-11 myself, but I have heard that it feels more solid and refined than its successors. I'm glad you've found a camera that suits you so well. For me,...

Welcome to RFF!

The SR-T 102 is my favorite, too.

For an electronic model, I like the X-570, as my approach to aperture-priority automation requires AEL (auto-exposure lock).

Thanks!

I have the 85mm f1.7 MD Rokkor, and it is my favorite lens.

I would dearly love to have a 58mm f1.2 MC Rokkor, but I actually use the normal focal length very little.

I agree with Nokton48 that an Autowinder D would go nicely with your XD-11. I have a couple of X-570s, and I really like them with the corresponding winder (Autowinder G for them). It adds gripping...

My favorite SR-T is the 102 and its focusing screen is snappier with faster lenses (f2.8 and faster). On the other hand, for lenses slower than f2.8, I find the focusing screen of the SR-T 101...

Hi GarageBoy -

The most common focal lengths are the least expensive. In wide angle, a 28mm f2.8 or a 35mm f2.8 would both be very reasonably priced. Faster lenses, such as a 28mm f2.0, and...
