May I resurrect this post and ask for some samples?

Also, why is ZM 35/2.8 a "C"-Biogon? What is the classic look that it is trying to imitate? A Sonnar look? Or is it something else?

Thanks.

I am getting a used one this Friday, yeah. Not that many people are selling, maybe this lens is not as well known as the Planar and therefore a low volume item.

I thought the swirlyness can be seen by a big discrepancy between the sag and tan line on the mtf? Never notice any swirlyness on my ZM 35/2 and its bokeh is quite natural/neutral.

Yes, when it is mounted on the body or an adapter correctly, the number will be aligned right. Make sure you mount it correctly though.

I have both Biogon 35/2 and CV 35/1.4, Biogon is of higher resolution and contrast at f2. Heard that 35/2.8 is just as good, if not better, than 35/2. Do you mind using a contax G? 35/2 planar focus...

Alternatives to C-sonnar?

I really like the way a Sonnar type draw and the color/contrast of a Zeiss lens. Is C-sonnar the only way to go? Are there other alternatives with perhaps a smaller price-tag? Thanks.
