Only problem with drinking and shooting is when you hand off an RF to a non RF user. Not only do they not focus, but they tweak some setting (speed typically) such that the next few shots are off...

I use lots of adapters, stacked, with a Nex. Really, I am concerned mostly with the experience of non-RF coupled lenses at large apertures on Ms. I will give it a shot!

Roger that. The DOF scales are narrow and only granular down to 3.5 in this situation. I suppose it always comes down to the ability to judge distances.

I appreciate your thoughts.

Using non-M lenses on M cameras

Is anyone here using an adapter to use non-M/LTM (non-rf-coupled) lenses on an M-mount camera? I understand it's a scale-focus affair. Basically, I ask because I have a few OM lenses (21/2,...

I've watched 40's pass by for under $400 and while the novelty of trying one appealed, I am glad I got the 50/2 macro. The 40 is small, certainly, but not 38/2.8 pen lens small. So, if compact were...

Let me clarify.
In my opinion, the exaggeration of DOF of a 15, cropped, appears greater than that of a 21 on full frame.

If you're looking to try this out, my LTM 15 will gladly hit the block.

You may be out of luck at that point unless you find an ultrawide SLR lens. CV 15 works, but I find the distortion a bit strong. My widest is a 21.
