Photogs / Photo Exhibits This is the place to discuss a particular Photographer (work, style, life, whatever), as well as to post Gallery and Museum Photo Exhibitions and your own impressions of them. As we march on in this new digital world, it is often too easy to forget about the visual importance of the photographic print, as well as their financial importance to the photographer. It is also interesting to remember that some guy named Gene Smith shot with lenses that many lens test reading "never had a picture published in their life" amateurs would turn up their their noses at, as being "unacceptable."

Alas, it has come
The moment to bid farewell
But only for a while
As time ambles on
Until the Reunion

Helen, may you be able to rejoice in your memories of Eric, and understand we all will miss him too. You both were quite a pair.

My sincere condolences, Helen.

He will live within your heart and memory until the end of Time in joy: The grief shall pass and he will be there smiling for you. Our eternity is alway is in the hearts and minds of those that we love, and who love us.

The only things worth having can only be given away;
Neither bought nor sold, nor grasped too tightly as our own.
And in the giving, the universe expands in joy.

Helen, I can only offer what was said to me when my wife died, "Focus on what you had, not what you've lost". It gets better with time but never goes away. I've since remarried to a lady that I went steady with in the 7th grade. There is a future. I hope the best for you.

Helen ,what courage you and Eric showed in not taking the chemo route. I think we all cling so hard to our lives at times. We all hope to die at home in our bed surrounded by those we love. You will always be blessed with the memories you and Eric shared.

Sincerely

Helen....My Condolences....it is difficult. My soulmate of 48 years passed away 2 weeks ago surrounded by our surviving children and family. Her rare form of pancreatic cancer metastasized after four years and it was all over ....it is indeed tough. My best wishes go out to you.

Helen, my deepest condolences to you and all those close to you and Eric. I am so sorry to read this. Your wonderful photographs always left me with a sense of how important he was to you and portrayed him with love and a joie de vivre that is rare and special. I lost my father in January. I was by his bedside in the hospital and my final words to him were to thank him for his life and all he had done for us all, and to tell him I will always love him. Grief can be like waves, sometimes catching one by surprise and crashing angrily around one as if possessed of an irresistible might, sometimes choppy and unsettling, sometimes lapping around one with such warmth and gentleness that it might not even be there - yet it most definitely is. I hope and wish that its waves settle and pass as quickly as possible for you, and that the day will soon come when your precious rememberings of Eric are filled more with the joy you both shared than with the pain of loss. I wish you the very, very best at this time.
