Wonderful images in this thread. I hope to one day contribute to it. Mandler was indisputably a genius.

Emiliano - fantastic that you Nailed the focus - I've been having difficulty with my 75mm Summilux the whole time I've owned it (frustration...)

Yes i know Yaron...i understand how do you feel because in every rolls i have at least 6 shoots out of focus, it's a difficult lens to use but when you catch the right focus...you are in heaven ^_^
However i prefer to use this lens on my M3, the rangefinder it's more accurate and easy to focus than my M6 0.72 (also using the magnification 1.25)
In my experience i have noted a lot of focus error betwen 2 and 5 meters...i have checked the lens and it's perfect on focus but i think my eyes are not sharp enough to focus details at these kind of distances....i mean at 70cm you can see "the eye" of the subject very well, and so you can focus perfectly on it, at 3 meters you can still try to focus on "the eye" but you can't see it well enough to focus perfectly on it...at least not me :-(

slightly off topic : R series Mandler lens

Normally stick to M lenses, but just got my first R lens : the famous Mandler 180/3.4 Apo Telyt-R which he designed for the M10

Close to 100% crop from E-M5 so effectively 360mm - resolution is atmospherically limited : CA not an issue.

Testing the lens out in preparation for the Americas Cup races. Half frame crop.

I fear I'm becoming a Mandler-lens addict... ...I bought a 50mm Summilux v.2 today. I had one several years back, sold it, regretted that ever since. I thought the DR Summicron would be enough, but apparently not...

Thanks Vincent. No, it's the one before the latest (aspherical) model. It was the current model when I bought it, in 2003.
