Just tried to Google this ('Leica 120H') and could not turn up anything. What's an 'optical lens'? Is this ready for the market? Price? Something about this seems a little strange to me, but don't know why.

You must be looking at a different picture. The one that loaded on my screen is gonna change medium format photography forever. I already withdrew $5000 and bought a roll of black tape for mine when it becomes available.

60mm at f/8!! Only the glass wizards of Wetzlar could have achieved such a light bucket!

Last time I was in the Howood it looked like shady area. Well, kind of outscirts, cheap. I'll be not surprised if they sell here same kind of porn I was offered by new Canadians at the gas station North of GTA. Photos in OP feels kind of the same. Thank you, Huss, for doing some PJ. Do they talk Pigeon English at this store?

I hope you bought the Leica branded black tape. It shows the Leica logo, in black, under a black light.
The kamera also comes with a roll of Tri(harder)X

Sounded like stool pigeon English to me.
It all seems on the up and up. I was told it was made in The Leica Factory, but not where that was. Something about divulging information on a need to (not) know basis.

I guess none of you know Kyle Cassidy...

The Leica H dates from 1999 http://leica-users.org/v07/msg10611.html

Michael Kenna has done a whole book with his Holga he took along with his Hasselblads. The white pigeon on the front cover is magic.

After the Instant Leica why not an MF Holga Leica? We’ve been hearing so much about that 60 f5.6 Distagon Neil Armstrong was showing off on the moon with: now Leica has gone one (stop) better.

$5000? For Leica MF? Surely you're joking.

Optical Lens? Has it been made for opticians? If so, they need their eyes tested.

Black tape is on backorder at all of the local camera stores around here...

I am waiting for the video, a lone figure trudging through snow, his 120H on a tripod over his shoulder (it does have a tripod bush doesn't it? ...and weather sealing??) and a Jony Ive clone soundtrack communicating to us from the heart about the transformative experience of using this new camera. "I had to argue with the team, insisted in fact, that it must have a fully transparent optical lens."

The camera does exist! I obtained the prototype for testing about 6 years ago and still have it. It's so early there's no SN on it. I'd guessing the value, like most prototypes, would run in the $50-70K range. Any offers?

That is a beautiful camera. If Leica made it in the hammertone finish, it would be the most beautiful Leica ever.

Some years ago copied a 'red dot' from some ad and the missus made up a gummed printed sheet of them for me. The diameter was a little too small, about the size of a dime and you had to cut them out by hand. I stuck them on several pedestrian cameras and a few plastic 35mm cameras along with several single use cameras.
Probably violated a copyright law but the Polizei never showed up* so I guess it was ok.

*Why would they, I live in the US.

i said uncomfortable. not painful.

well .. let's think this thing a little bit further.

what is planting snob attracting brand logo on a toy camera good for?
playing anti-snob?

now, this is such an obvious publicity stunt, and seen too many times to even raise an eyebrow. (quietly yawning again, and painless, too, thank you)

however, the idea of combining the dentist money outlet brand leica with the appeal of a working class plastic camera might still have something for it. i'm more thinking along the lines of providing the "correct" make up to a leica. there was this special edition Diana F+ (another snobbish brand, lomography) in cyan/yellow/magenta.
why not apply such a colouring schema on a leica MP? did anybody do so already? if so, how is the experience using it in public?

not being taken as a "serious" photographer has its good aspects ..

and now i return to my basement to have an unobserved laughing attack.

cheers,
s.
