Something different. Unmarked tomb #43 (with flower) in the Colon cemetery in Havana holds the remains of the most important person in the Cuban Revolución, according to Fidel Castro (he classifies himself as #2). Celia Sanchez, who worked from the shadows and shunned publicity, was effectively responsible for appointing Fidel as the military leader while she provided organization, money, arms and recruited troops.

Almost every Cuban bows their head in reverence when Celia Sanchez's name is mentioned while Fidel and Raul have few fans left. Her unmarked tomb is hardly a secret as just about every Cuban seems to know where it is.

"Exiled" tombstones at the old Lundby church, Göteborg, Sweden.

Canon 7, Jupiter 12, TriX 400TX @ 400 developed in 1+50 Calbe R09 (~Rodinal) almost 9 years after exposure.

One from a recent series, the rest of which can be seen in the Canon RF forums.

At the funeral of Nilvia Calzadilla Núńez in Cueto, Holguin, Cuba. She was a 90 year old cultural icon who lived at the old folks home. Funerals in Cuba are usually the following day as they do not embalm bodies or have refrigeration to store them. Coffins use the bare minimum of a wood frame and are covered with cloth as bodies are removed from the crypt after 3 years and the bones placed in a smaller box for storage. Then the crypt is reused.

The story about her, her death, and her funeral is at http://bobmichaels.org/funeral%20of%...alzadilla.html

Not really a designated cemetery per se, but a marker deep in the forest noting the approximate location of an Omaha Tribe burial ground, where Chief Logan Fontenelle, last of the "Great Chiefs" of the Omaha, is interred.
