Talking OT: Rangefinderforum and future Powerball Jackpot

AH, we can dream, can't we?

I'm just watching the live coverage of these 8 winners in Nebraska. What a great story.

Maybe we can go in it together for the next big jackpot. Imagine all the Noctiluxes, Aspherical Summiluxes, Digital M's and Luigi cases we can buy!

AH, we can dream, can't we?

It would be an A-LA-Carte Bonanza.

Today is Wednesday...I think I may buy a ticket. I may be able to scrounge enough quarters to do it from somewhere.

I live about 25 miles from where the winning ticket was sold.

I'm also in an office pool which we do whenever it gets really large.

It sure woke me up this past Sunday morning when CNN announced "... and the winning Powerball ticket was sold at a convenience store in Nebraska!"

Unfortunately when they announced which store it was, it was very obvious that it wasn't the one our resident bookie uses.

Oh well, so close but yet ...

I have hit 3 numbers in several megamillions before, Good way to get your heart going.
Last one was 130 million. I had the first 3 numbers, winner lived about 1 hour from me.
A 21 year old girl locally won 90 million on a quick pick her first time she ever played....

we could have our own special edition Leica issued...with special engraving and paint. The only problem would be getting everyone to agree on the specs

How does your system work? Does Powerball Jackpot have 49 or 52 numbers or more? How many total correct numbers do you need to get the jackpot?

A rundown of how you can win can be found HERE

It's 5 out of 55 and 1 out of 42.

Wow! So divide the population of the USA in half, give each person a unique sequential number and then you have to pick the person with that number to win the grand prize.

Statistically speaking, you are more likely to be struck by lightning.

That's right. I majored in Economics in University and in Statistics 101 we discussed how lotteries were absolutely irrational decisions to participate in. Even for $1. But what's a dollar for a nice dream?

Lotteries also provide some nice revenue for state governments. But that's another discussion altogether.

So before I win the grand prize I will have already been hit by lightning 8 times! That means I'm probably dead before the check arrives.
