I think I'll spend more time here. Latest site changes seem to have improved performance

Yes, definitely. It was crawling for me for a long time, and now it is really quick.

Thanks to the higher powers.

Yeah, it is going much faster. So does that mean we can get the random galley pics posted again on the front page?

Very peppy now... I suspect it was somewhat overloaded before, as sometimes I'd wait for several minutes for a page to load... and I have a fast DSL connection. This is great!

Nope. Still like browsing through treacle here. Each page is taking about ten seconds to open.
Cleared my temporory files, cleared cookies, ran CCleaner etc. Site still very slow.

Look at the stats. There are usually more guests on the forum than members!

server load was very high at the hosting facility. they are looking into it. once they resolve that, we should see normal fast performance again.

It took over one and a half minutes to sign in a little whle ago, and the same again for the 'new posts' list to open. Maybe the new server is a lemon.

At times it's glacially slow... 4-5 minutes to open a page is hard to take. Yesterday it seems slowest around early evening Pacific time, and again around 1 AM, but that's not been uncommon as I've assumed that's when system maintenance is done.

Is anyone else having trouble adding attached Thumbnails? I'm trying to add some pictures of cameras with Gordy's straps and also my Leica IIIc in that thread.

I may have spoken to soon. It just slowed down considerably. Maybe an intermittent problem?
