My first large format kit: a used Shen Hao HZX-45, 3 lenses (Fujinon 90/8, Fujinon 150/6.3, and Rodenstock 210/6.8), and a Manfrotto tripod.

I was very pleased with the extremely knowledgeable service and reasonable pricing from CatLABS, now my favorite camera store in Boston.

Added the Fuji X100T today. Got the case and hood too. The hood unfortunately is silver and not black. Gonna sell my original X100 next I reckon.

Canon Power Shot ELPH 100 HS at a thrift store for $11...had a dead battery and no charger...bought a charger from ebay...waiting for charger to see if this thing works...
If I like the results it will replace the Kodak Z710 that I carry while cycling...

Canon F-1 original

Dear Board,

This is a repeat purchase. I originally bought a used Canon F-1 from a neighbor when I was still just a kid and used it throughout my college years.

In an effort to recapture my youth I bought this one in a Goodwill auction. It came with a 50mm/f1.4 SSC, the MF motor winder, a flash coupler, several filters, and a Sunpak 333 flash.

The winder was corroded and inoperable upon receipt but some judicious cleaning brought it back to life. WOW, is it loud. It's makes my Canon 1DMK3 sound like a spy camera.

I added a Vivitar Series 1 70-210 f2.8-4 and a Vivitar 120-600 f5.6 - 8 along with a Tokina 28-70 f2.8-4.3 macro zoom to the collection.

I am in the process of running the first roll of film through the camera. At this point everything seems to work properly, the shutter speeds seem to be accurate and the light meter reads exactly the same as my Gossen Luna-Lux SBC with a 675 hearing aid battery in the camera in place of the original PX-625 mercury cell.

God I hope everything works!

My other hobby is playing the guitar, and my recent purchases have been guitar-related. I had been wanting a Fender Jaguar for some time (I already have three strats, three teles, two Les Pauls, a D28, an ES-175, and an SG). However, while trying out a few Jags, I also played a couple Jazzmasters. I couldn't decide which I liked better, so I got both.

I spend about two hours a day practicing, it's a great hobby. But it can be expensive.

I bought a 28mm-30mm step-up ring for my super solinette. Had to get it as although the manual says the lens mount is 30mm, my example has a thread smaller than that.

Unfortunately, the thread on the lens isn't really deep enough to take the step ring. I've compared the 'front to back' depth of the thread on the step ring and the 30mm filter and the filter has a shallower thread depth, so I've decided to try with a 28mm sklylight filter and metal hood.

Pentax 85mm/1.9 M42. It will be mounted on my ES II that was recently reconditioned by Eric Hendrickson.

Should be a sweet combo.

Oh, and an eyecup for my Koni-Omega Rapid-M.

Super Takumar or SMC? The SMCs have a lug to allow open-aperture metering and AE on cameras like the ES II.

Konica 1

I have just acquired a very well preserved Konica 1 (MIOJ), with a Konisiroku Hexar 50/2.8 lens. The Camera is quirky, with a shutter cocking lever separate from the film advance, and a collapsing barrel lens. I have film in it now, and all seems to work well, if a bit slowly. Lots of fun!

Yesterday, I had to go to the mall--wanted to see Ghost In The Shell--and after the movie I discovered there had been an antique show. Most of the dealers were packing up or gone but one woman was still hanging on and she had a modest display of cameras. 10 or 15 and not the usual obvious junk. So, I looked through them. Nothing much exciting though she desperately wanted to sell me a Konica Autoreflex T4. Which was broken and too expensive anyway.
So, I did spend $3 on two clear plastic Kodak filter cases and Leica Catalog #36.

The filter cases are pretty good I think and I have been accumulating a few of them. They are round and lock together and will hold up to a series VI size.

I'm calling it a win.

Rob

Haven't processed any 4x5 in them yet but it certainly seems well made and well thought out.

Picked up a nice thumb grip for the Coolpix A.
A bit of gaffers tape covered the useless bubble level.

Just got these today. 35mm f2.5 in the 1.8 barrel and an 85mm f2 in black paint. Both are the last versions of the lenses. The 85 is marked with the Contax C (not the coated C). They came with a Contax IIIa black dial camera. Also a Nikon Varifocal finder in pretty good shape.
I'm using them with the Amedeo adapter.

Just bought a Centon PV23 Tripod from a charity shop. It needed a wash and the the head is stiff when it's tilted to 90 degrees and it's missing the quick release plate.

I've ordered a quick release plate from a seller who had pv23 tripod for sale.

Just bought a 'Medis' accessory rangefinder from ebay. Click on pic to see big version:

There was a bit of a 'scare' when I first looked through it as the image was rather 'cloudy'. I thought I may have to have it CLA'd, but as this would 4 or 5 times the cost of it, I wondered about having a go myself. Luckily after giving the lenses a wash using cotton buds the prolbem wasn't a problem any more. The focusing wheel does get in the way of my glasses though.

Forgot to mention that I've also just bought a 28mm skylight filter from SRB and 28mm lenshood for my Agfa Super Solinette. Both are going back: The filter 'cos it's "cloudy", (which is the same problem as the first 30mm skylight filter they sent) and the lenshood 'cos I think it's too narrow to not cause vignetting.
