Some recently ironed prints :

The first one is a picture of a road in Cornwall I took in 2013, and the other are more recent : a plant in my flat, a gig in Paris and people walking on a hill in Cape Town, all 2016.

+1

I'm becoming a fan of the very small B&W print and the very large (well, 16"x12" is the largest I can go) colour print. Each seems to suit the different sizes perfectly.

Thanks John,

That one was on Ilford RC

Here is one on Adox mcc 110 5x7. I don't know a whole lot about paper yet but the Adox is pretty nice.

From a long weekend Paris.

Bergger BRF400 Plus in Pyrocat-HDC 1+1+100. Printed on Fomaspeed Variant 311.

The atmosphere in Paris is still good however on critical points heavy armed police and soldiers.

This is wonderful. I wish I had been organised and had my darkroom set up in time to do this. Hopefully next year.

Two flatbed scans of prints I made last night. Both photos were shot on TMAX 100 with a Canon AE-1 and 50/1.4. Printed on an Omega D2 with an LED cold head from Modern Enlarger Lamps. I used a Componon-S lens, and exposure was the same for both prints: 15 secs. at f/8.

This one is on Ilford RC paper (8x10), #2 1/2 contrast filter:
021401

This one is on Ilford FB paper, #2 contrast filter:
021402

Attended an 'introduction to printing' course yesterday - 5.5 hours in the darkroom. I absolutely loved it, and wish I had done it years ago. B&W film - and the options for exposing and printing - suddenly make a lot more sense.

Some attempts in toning with self-mixed polysulfide toner on MGCT and MGWT, compared to untoned prints.

This was polysulfide after selenium. Selenium alone is a more subtle effect.

Wet-lab printing time lapse of me printing....

I don't knkow if this'll count as showing my latest darkroom prints - but it is a time lapse I rendered showing my most recent 8-hour printing session.

Enjoy !

Hey there - thanks ! The bright light you see throughout the printing sequence is actually a light I rigged up with a foot switch to shine white light into my fixer tray. That way I don't have to turn on all of the room lights to check the values on a new print.

I needed to do this for the time lapse - since you have to lock down the exposure before you start filming I had to make a choice. I did not want to let the camera make exposure changes throughout the printing sequence, which meant I would have to rig up something for checking my prints without turning on the lights. When I turned the lights on for the last half I picked a new exposure and color balance. I had wanted a light like this over my sink for years, this time lapse was just a good excuse to get it done.

The enlarger is actually in the far back of the room in its only little area.

Ah, got it! That's a beautiful setup you have; it puts my darkroom to shame. I also appreciated the notes on your process.

Thanks, I really enjoy working in this darkroom. Up until the past few years good darkroom equipment was really easy to find - and cheap. I was fortunate enough to gather some really nice pieces together. I've been looking for a second DeVere 504 enlarger, but they just aren't coming up (sure, if you want to spend over $1K, but who can do that?). I'd like to have two identical enlargers wit the same speed-carrier receiver. Then I could set them both up for the same negative but different print sizes. Maybe someday.
