Is it the Starbucks or the Leica Joe? Be strong, our Rs will battle on just as their Ms do!

I must admit though, that Lugi case looks sweet.

very sweet - fortunately i have never used a case and doubt i ever will.

starbucks tastes burnt to me - just my humble opinion.

i like leicas much better than starbucks.
but i really like the r too. i guess there's no accounting for taste, eh?
i had hoped to get an r2 but maybe another r (for backup of course), then an r3.

here's my contribution. please forgive the hilariously low resolution. this is taken with my only digital camera, the "vivitar capture 35" a hybrid digital/35mm thing that i bought on a whim. i had to buy it just to support the idea of hybrid cameras in general.

can anyone identify the rangefinder?

Crikey, I looked at that ad too and began wishing I had an R2 to go with my CL. And last night I *almost* bid on a Canonet QL 1.7.

It's dangerous hanging out around here

I tell ya Joe, once you get past it and get to liking Starbucks, it too is an addiction

*real* coffee.... go to any Vietnamese Place and order a Ca Phe Sua Da (Cafe' Sooah Da)... for you guys up here in the Great North Wet, i recommend "Simply Saigon" in Bellevue; "Pho Tic Tac" in Seattle; "Pho Hoang" in Federal Way

For You guys in the SF Bay Area, there is a little Vietnamese Deli on the corner of 6th and Santa Clara in San Jose...

for you guys in LA... try Wok & Roll in Pasadena on Colorado.

if anybody has suggestions for Phoenix or Denver i am ready to take notes...

To quote Chairman Kaga... "if memory serves me well..."

Ca Phe Sua Da makes Brazil's Cafe Zina seem like water. If I have the right coffee in mind, it was tres strong and served with condensed milk. Very rich, high octane even. You don't expect to sleep for a while after one of these.

Might be worth a trip to one of the neighborhood Pho shops with a camera (or two) in hand.

There's only one thing I enjoy more than a Gibson or a Vodka Martini-- A good cup of the bean.

I've had to give up so many things that I thought life wouldn't be very interesting, but my doctor told me that coffee will not harm my heart, and it is full of anti-oxidants and good for me! I felt liberated! Then he suggested a glass of red wine in the evening. I could have hugged him! Then he said, "Hell, one mild cigar a day won't kill you either." I don't smoke, but I was astonished.

Enough cream and sugar will cure even Starbucks coffee. Had my DSLR out last weekend at one, the shame......

Joe, we must be soul brothers. I could give up many things, but NOT coffee. I like Tim Horton's too -- I'm not too fussy as long as the coffee's reasonably good

Yeah, an R2... You guys are bad influences ...

Coffee is a necessity of life. Along with a fine pilsner, SEC football, Texas barbecue, baseball and a plentiful supply of TRI-X.

I'll agree with all of this with the exception of the Texas BBQ. I grew up in North Carolina and am quite fond of the vinegar based sauce.

Welcome and thank you for posting the tasty shot of your beautiful Bolsey. I did not look at the thumbnail before opening it, and it was suspenseful watching the image generate from the top down ("could that be a Bolsey? Yes, I think it is..."), a great way to start the morning.

Welcome and thank you for your post! I don't think we have seen one of those yet on the thread. Have you shot much with that camera? Can you post some to the gallery?

cheers!

Now that I've got oodles of free time, I'm finally going through some old photo CD's. Here's two C&C pics I took of my father-in-law's Zeiss Ikon Contessa. Neat little camera! The photos it takes are tack sharp!

I came into the possession of a few MF folders, courtesy of a fellow forum member. Here are a couple of them posting with a cup of my breakfast coffee and an old Kodak catalog I picked up at the flea market for $1.
