Two from an early pre radioactive Super Takumar 55/1.8. These lenses have a flat, fine knurled aperture ring. This is a kit lens with great versatility.

I just picked up a Super-Tak 55/f1.8 with a SV. Very excited to see how it performs, they have a stellar reputation.

Not sure if this has been posted here on this thread or elsewhere on the forum, but I just found this interesting site. Lots of information and history on Takumar lenses:
https://takumarguide.weebly.com/

EDIT: Re-read the thread, and sure enough, it has been posted upthread by kuaan (Post #125).

earlier I had presented the preset Takumar and the Super Multi Coated Takumar f2.8/105 ( post 185 and 203 ), which are the earliest and latest versions of f2.8/105mm Takumars

once again these two lenses:

and there two more versions that came in between, first the Auto Takumar:

and the Super Takumar f2.8/105 whose body looks identical with that of the Super Multi Coated:

first taken with Pentax K-x, second with Pentax *istDs ( both APS-C sensor )

Sorry, no accompanying photos, but I do have a couple or three Taks that I acquired with purchases of cameras. I have tried them and find them good performers. I don't think they are as good as my Fujinons nor my one Contax 50mm f/1.4. But my Fujinons and the Contax were purchased new. I know how they have been handled. Since I can't say the same for the Takumars, to say the are good performers is a big compliment.

I did not find them as contrasty as the Contax (which was almost too contrasty), and they "painted" differently than the Fujinons, with the Fujinons more to my liking. I don't know if that is because I used the Fujinons before the Takumars.

All in all, if Takumars were all I had, I am sure I would still be a happy picture taker.
nice to see all the photos accompanying this thread. All good!

Can you tell us which Takumars?

There were an awful lot, some great, some good, some less so. So saying 'Takumar's aren't as good as Fujinon or Contax' doesn't tell us much...

I feel like this is somehow appropriate for a Takumar thread on a Rangefinder forum...

If I keep reading this thread I'm gonna wind up owning a 6x7 and a 105mm Takumar pretty soon. Great photos everyone and just stunning image quality from that camera and lens.

If you think this thread is bad, then you'll really want to stay away from the Pentax 67 GAS! thread. That's how I ended up with my 6x7 and 105/2.4.

My apologies, I hope you are able to resist. I know that wide is the (film) gate and broad is the format that leads to destruction... of your wallet.

Just joined the Takumar club! Picked up a nice Spotmatic with a 50mm f/1.4 Super Tak at a price I couldn't refuse. The meter doesn't work, but I'll open up the battery compartment or bottom plate tonight and see what kind of condition it's in. Happy to use Sunny 16 if I can't get the meter sorted out.
