A digital ZM -- Are they already here!!

Was trying to find out the price for Zeiss Ikon in India and stumbled upon this link. Looks like all the prayers for a digital Zeiss Ikon has already been answered. And they are pretty cheap too

Zeiss Ikon Review

Wish they wouldn't use India on the URL

It only has a "0.74X magnificent" viewfinder. I like completely magnificent viewfinders better.

Pretty impressive if it can run for 2 hours off an LR44 battery.

3,995 rupees? that's under $100 according to xe.com

Or does Rs 3,995.00 mean a different currency?

Indiaserver.com? I may be wrong, and no disrespect, but is that a highly rated website for Zeiss rumours?

My ZI clocks in at 20 MP minimum. And that's limited by the scanner.

The lens sounds wonderful, too! M-mount, non-interchangeable, 15-85mm, with an "f-number of (f2-4s"!

The 'digital Zeiss' in the website also has a built-in flash (???) and an auto-bracketing feature!

I think whoever wrote that website description was having hallucinations -- making a weird hybrid camera of their dreams...

Too many Indian pharmaceuticals ingested, perhaps?

I think INR 3995.00 (US$ 80) may be just about right for a camera of this quality. Wonder if there is a waiting list to get it ?

Zeiss has been selling digital cameras for years, you're free to buy an AxioCam any day.
