W/NW: Whisky, Whiskey

I did a search and didn't find any threads dedicated to whisky (or whiskey) photos. Here's one of my favorites, purchased in Osaka a few years ago.
Let's share some photos and favorites!

Hasselblad 500c/m, Zeiss Planar T* 80mm f/2.8 CF, 8mm extension tube, Ilford HP5+.

Crown Royal and Coke being sipped by woman in Po Monkey's Juke Joint outside Merigold Mississippi. This photo was used in exhibits in Holguin City and Cueto, Cuba that was implicitly themed the similarities of the basic culture of the deep south of the US with that of Cuba. The caption explained that Crown Royal with its purple velvet bag costs 3 times as much as regular whiskey but tasted similar when mixed with Coke. However it was an important status symbol when consumed in public. Several viewers commented that she was just showing off, similar to the way some Cubans do with designer clothing, all counterfeit.

...we enjoyed more than a relaxing soak in the bath before dinner. Cheap whisky and coke! Kind of a juvenile drink for a man of my age, but, who cares! It tasted good.

Uh oh...I smell whisky (this one's for you Ken) and where there's whisky, there's soon to be a party!

A man's got to shave if he wants to look good for his wife. Hey, where'd that bottle of single malt whisky come from?

I know, I know, it's empty, and it's bourbon not whiskey!

Kind of like saying Pentax is just as good as Leica! [Ducking for cover...]

Japanese whisky with a Japanese camera is a very good pairing. Didn't have time to visit the Yamazaki Distillery last time I was in Japan, hoping to make there some day.

At the end of the day it's time to reload and then get loaded.
Hi Nikka, just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's bad.

This bottle was given to me as a gift while working in Ireland in 1995...
I don't drink so it just sat...last year I decided to sell it...the person that bought it lives in Ireland...
It returned not all that far from where it came...
I bought the Nikon ED AF 80-200mm 2.8 with the money...

Midleton Very Rare Whiskey 1993 700ml with Wood Presentation Box and original Paperwork.

Yup, we took the tour, but I think all visitors to the distillery can hand fill their own bottle. Fill, cork, and label it yourself!

I stepped into a Cainz mega store in Kurihama to get out of the blazing sun and to soak up some air-conditioning and was amazed to find their new low priced line of whisky. I don't know who their marketing/advertising people are but they need to go back to the drawing board and rethink the name of this whisky.

All the best,
Mike

Collectable Lawsons Liqueur Whisky decanter, probably around 1900. A label named Lawsons Liqueur Whisky was registered in 1889 but the label was 'put on ice' in 1903 when mr. Lawson himself was let go from the Dublin E&J Burke distilling company, to be revived as late as 1967. https://scotchwhisky.com/whiskypedia...liam-lawson-s/

Focus test shot with a Kiev 6C and Vega 90mm 2.8 after adjustment. I say the camera passed the test although at the time I had not sorted the light leaks out. There was Aberlour Single Malt 12yrs in the decanter at the time IIRC.
