Thank you Bramling.

It is humbling to witness how quickly fire can change a landscape.

Just got mine today from ebay seller (recommended on this thread) Alex-ukr-Alex
Looks like new, dry firing everything seems ok. RF aligned.

Don't think I'll be able to get a roll of film shot/dev before the end of Oktober though! It's 30th today!

FYI, I miss frame lines in this camera..

Nice looking camera Huss.

First a Veriwide 100 and now a Zorki. You're on a roll!

Very nice. BTW, you don't need to shoot the whole roll, and you can post what you do get anytime. Just as long as the photo was taken in October.

I remember that! The third time I had to tear down my Zorki-1d/b I left it apart so I could show others what the insides look like. My current Zorki-1e though is too nice looking to smash, although the thought did cross my mind. I shot it all month, a frame or two at a time here and there, only to find it wasn't winding the film. So I reloaded it, and could have swore it was winding correctly, only to discover yesterday I'd been shooting blanks again. Well, at least the Zorki-6 worked fine, so I'll have some color to show.

I shot my October roll in the new Zorki 3m, before my son took it over. I should get it developed soon, I shot it as my "wanna-be-like-Swift1" project.

Alex is my go-to guy for anything FSU, never been disappointed. He is open to all sorts of deals too, I regularly ask him to switch lenses, or sell the body only, delete cases (I don't care for cases) etc. He gives a good discount on deals like that.

From my first roll in my Zorki 4 bought during red Oktober.
Notes on the camera: really fun to use. Not yet used to framing w the vf, not sure where the borders are. Great shutter timing and frame spacing is perfect between frames. In actual frames the bottom of the image touches the sprocket holes.

Really like this beastie and that's coming from a Leica user!

Zorki 4, Jupiter 8 50mm 2.0, Fuji C200, D850 scan, NegativeLabPro lightroom plugin

Excellent results, Huss.
My Zorki 4 exposes on to the sprocket holes too. I have read it is because they were designed for a taller film cartridge, and there is a way to shim the cartridge to get the exposure between the sprocket holes. I just figure it's kinda a signature of the camera. I end up with a slightly wider frame than 3:2. It's more like 3.2:2

Thanks Colton. Now that I know the image touches the sprocket holes (doesnt go into them) I will just compose a little higher. I'm not going to touch anything as the frame spacing is perfect.

I am late getting my Red October submissions but better late...
My motivation was two-fold, first to complete my "Take pictures like Colton" project, of which I hope he finds no insult, second to shake down this new-to-me Zorki 3M with Jupiter 8. Herewith is the result.

One more, I think shows the Jupiter 8's qualities to good effect.

I have another group from the project, but they weren't taken with the FSU, and I haven't scanned them yet. I'll post them in another thread, probably the M2 one.

Well you've beat me to posting, David, and I started this thread! I need to gather up some rolls, and get them on their way to the lab. You got some good results out of that combo. Makes me wish my Zorki-3 didn't have a wrecked rangefinder prism. It focuses correctly, just difficultly because the vertical is way out.

It's about time!

Finally got all my film from last year developed, and there was more than one roll I shot for Red Oktober. These are from the first one (found another complete roll still in the camera the other day) that I started in August, and used the last few frames in October.

They are from a little town in Virginia just west of Kerr Lake called Boydton that is one of the tidiest places I've found since moving to the Commonwealth almost twenty years ago.

Taken with a Zorki-6 sporting a Jupiter-12, on Kodak Tri-X 400/24.

More to come in a few days when the second roll comes back.

That's a true Americana photo if I've ever seen one, Colton. From the Chrysler Imperial, to the way the plants are arranged on the porch, and the flag prominently displayed just screams "The American Way". Although these days that has been muddied a bit.
