Issues uploading to the gallery

Hello all.

I've tried uploading some images recently and I get this weird message. Anyone has any idea as to what is going?

Thanks for taking the time,

Guy.

The file is too large. You must shrink the size of your image under 500kb(?) or something. I don't usually upload my images to gallery because of this.

That comes up even on a much smaller file. There is another way.
On the blue bar select "Photos"
Go down to "Upload Photos" (just above "My Photos")
"Title" your picture and "Browse" your hard drive for a photo that is less than 0.48828125 MB size JPG file only.
Below the list select "Upload selected Photos"
This has been working for me. If you want to place pics in subject threads, you have to link to a photo storage site, rather than uploading directly to the gallery. Or you can link to a photo in your Gallery

I've been having trouble with this and can't even seem to get photos to be as small as they are required. I don't recall this being such an issue before but I'm pretty frustrated with uploading images here. I keep trying, but maybe it's time to just give up on trying to make a legible .4882125mb file.

Does the software that you're using to downsize the files for upload allow you to set/limit the file size? If so try setting it to 420K
Also try setting the resize to fit to 1500 x1500. These are setting that I use and they generally produce a JPEG files of around 380-400 K
