What are the worst words in photography?
So...what are the worst words you've ever heard in photography?
Me? It always starts out the same way; "...I bought my spouse a DSLR for Christmas and they've become quite the photographer. Here, take a look as some of their pictures."
What are yours?

An all time favorite of many of us here:

You know your flash didn't go off. [such ignorance]
Those shots won't work out you know. [same guy]
You might want to take the lens cap off. [so embarrassing]
Yeah, I have an old camera just like that. [bet she doesn't]
So you have these on your iPhone, but you took them with that old film camera....how did you do that? [magic]
Is that a Lecia? [dyslecia]

Joe...the macro shots of flowers are usually what I am bombarded with with...along with backyard family shots of the kids...and oh yes, that famous poorly exposed sunset shot from the family vacation...and it all ends with, "...aren't they a great photographer?"

Not enough light.
...I find myself saying it to often. A 1.4 lens and fast film help, but both are expensive to sustain and even then, there are limits if you need to deal with motion.

At the airport security with the officer looking at my 1950s rangefinder: "Turn the Camera ON and let me look at the display!"
Me: "It doesn't even have a battery ..." :-)

"Can you get me a job?" or "How do I get that job?"
Pretty much what I hear everytime I tell another photographer that I work for a large daily newspaper. It doesn't even matter what their background is, weddings, fashion, whatever.
"Your flash didn't go off."
It's very annoying to explain.
"How much should I charge for....?"
Pretty much every other post on fred miranda in the "pro" section.
"How old is that camera?"
I've been asked this a handful of times while carrying my M7/M8/M9.

My brother about a week ago when I showed him the M4: "I seriously don't believe a camera can work without batteries."
Then he fondles the M4 for a few minutes and says, "the bottom plate looks like its hiding a battery", when I told him the roll goes in there, he goes, "no, you are lying. Why don't you open that and show it to me?" God help me, I had a TriX loaded at the time.
