Two Pricey Leica on eBay!

Here's one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/LEICA-LEITZ...QAAOSw96Zb6Zl5

And a much pricier one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-LAST-LE...oAAOSwtdVa6zt6

And we thought the M10 cost too much?

They mean the strap lugs' shape, I'd suppose.

There's another name for those early strap lugs; I don't remember it. Is it "ears" something? "Elephant ears," maybe?

Pretty close, but no cigar
I've heard and read: «Buddha ear», and «dog ear»; but IDK what's the German expression?

No, it doesn't make me think the M10 is reasonably priced, but those numbers make me dream of at least a handful of black M2 bodies :-)

Dog-eared? That's how my cameras could be described anyway

The really early Leica M3s had a little notch/bump on the front. Seen just below/in front the frame counter in that picture. Not sure at what serialnumber they ditched it.

For that price, they should bring the bloody things personally on a red satin pillow

Ok, so the last M3 sold 2 years ago at Bonham's -

https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/23871/lot/29/

Now asking $550,000, what an insane profit margin.

I don't know anything about this 'market' but wonder if caneras in that category hold their value/guarantee a profit years down the line.

I doubt it Peter. I don't think you could resell it for that the next day. Not really a liquid asset.

I think they do that to make an M beater priced at 2k+ seem like bargains.
