Once a year is enough for me... I'll catch it next time. Thanks as always for bringing us together. :-)

This is an unacceptable count (18 cards!). You need to talk to someone about stolen/missing/?? mail. This should be truly disconcerting . What else is not making it to you??

I notice you didn't get my card (rfaspen/Jeff). Maybe I'll send it to you again during our next round -- I made extras for such contingencies.

I too would like to participate at a rate of once annually -- So count me in for RFF Postcard # ? (which one are we on now?)

If we have an RFF Postcard once annually, it makes sense to initiate the next round about 6-8 months later (I noticed someone above wanted to participate once a year). Depends on what we consider the official date -- initiation, due date for sending cards, first arrivals, last arrivals?

I think we would be initiating this next project about 6 months after folks started receiving cards from the last one? Or perhaps from the "send-by" date?

Anyway, it takes a while to have folks sign up, edit and distribute addresses, make images, print up images, send images, admire images...seems like previous postcard projects occurred roughly annually. I guess the last project initiated sometime late May/June of last year...so we're a little early at March of this year. Still not bad, eh?

Wow, thats encouraging. Not even officially announced and so many hands up. I will announce next weekend in a new thread (and here for the subscribers of this thread) and give us a generous timeframe.

Indeed. I'm used to two cards getting lost per round, but only 18 from the last round... someone in the line really likes the cards you're getting - which I could understand.

I'd be up for another too. If I can carve out the time over Spring Break next month, I might even do mine as real silver gelatin prints, though no promises.

London. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. Jokes aside, thank you so much to everyone that has offered to send me additional cards. It is much appreciated, but I am happy with my lot and look forward to your contributions to #11. One correction on my part, igzabeher’s shot from Chicago did reach me, but it had ended up under a sheet of paper on my desk and I found it while cleaning the other day – bringing me to a total of 19.

Apart from the fact that the sorting machines murder – read tear – the print now and then, I see the stealing hypothesis as yet another reason for us all to use envelopes this time. The postage should be the same anyway.

I was thinking we might study the cards damaged in sorting by who used what print provider to see if one is better at protecting our images.

Good thinking, here is my analysis.

1. ABrosig (damaged: colour tearing)
2. Big Ursus (pristine)
3. COLSEBASTIANMORAN (pristine)
4. Don Parsons (damaged: severe colour tearing)
5. FDarnell (damaged: very very minor "rubbing mark”, barely visible)
6. Papercut (pristine)
7. Randolph45 (damaged: very very minor "rubbing mark”, barely visible)
8. analogangler (pristine)
9. jkcampbell (damaged: colour tearing)
10. jpressman (pristine)
11. jweber3rd (damaged: very very minor "rubbing mark”, barely visible)
12. krötenblender (damaged: colour tearing)
13. kxl (damaged: pretty bad colour tearing)
14. largedrink (pristine)
15. mothertrucker (pristine)
16. motion_runner (pristine)
17. pyeh (pristine)
18. seakayaker1 (damaged: very very minor "rubbing mark”, barely visible)
19. igzabeher (damaged: colour tearing)

Incidentally, I got an advertisement postcard from MOO which has the same colour tearing as many of the above postcards; maybe this is a UK thing? There is also a 15% off code on the card: MOREWITH15OFF, feel free to use it!

18. seakayaker1 (damaged: very very minor "rubbing mark”, barely visible) I am assuming the "rubbing Mark' is from going through the postal service.

I also used MOO and the description from the order was "Small Postcard - Super (finish on one side) Soft Touch." I ordered 50 cards and the cost was $55.00 + 7.25 for shipping and handling.

I have been happy with using MOO to print my postcards. Cost is worth participating in the exchange and receiving so many beautiful cards in return.

Thanks a ton randolph45 and seakayaker1 for the additional details. When I wrote “damaged: very very minor ‘rubbing mark’, barely visible”, this really is minor and should speak in favour of MOO’s stock. From the #11 thread, it would really be in the category of what others described as a postcard’s “memories from the road”.
