Enjoying the colors and images on this thread, I dug through old M9 files, and here are three from a Sunday afternoon walk in Aix en Provence

Thank you! I just got into digital M via the M9, after shooting with different film M's. So far I'm pleased with it, it behaves just like film M to me. I personally thinks it's a modern classic

The first one was straight out of camera. I tweaked the saturation on the second photos. But the colors out of the camera is great and rarely need adjustment, although I tend to underexpose 1/3 or 2/3 when shooting.

Yes, SOOC might be a part explanation. But I like to be specific - and not have to explain that abbreviation. You can adjust jpegs in Lightroom choosing auto etc of course. Never good for golden hour shots. I have cropped this square too, so clearly not SOOC exactly.

It's fascinating to see the ways people process their M9 images. Here are a few more recent images from mine.

M9 Forever

There's nothing like it, even with its faults.
My M10 comes close for color, but the M9 look is its own.
I still have my M9 Monochrom and will never sell it.

I love the 35mm 2.8 Biogon M9 combination the best!

Maggieo, all good stuff, I mean really good stuff, but its the picture of the four boys on the rocky outcrop that grabs my attention. Magnificent!

All the best,

Out to Lunch, on Flickr. Saigon, April 2017. Leica M-E - Zeiss Biogon 2/35. As we speak, the Leica M-E is alive but not doing too well...sensor corrosion and I'll have
to send it to another country for the free sensor replacement and overhaul. I've decided to keep her with the old-school CCD sensor, instead of upgrading to a later model.

Helen, I admire you for doing this. And your pictures.

OtL, great BW. I think, something was changed in new M-E sensor. In how my same old LR4.4 reads them...

I used M-E for entire week and realized what enabling 1/125 as minimal shutter speed has improved my results with M-E.

Thanks Helen and Ko.Fe. Re the 'new' sensor for the M-E, I have been wondering whether it will have the same specs, minus the corrosion, as the old one. On 1/125s, I took this one in Geneva on a cold and gray winters day in 2017, and I think the old CCD sensor renders very nicely:

Something is wrong those pictures are way better in rendering than from my M-E. Was it also limited on the sensor?

Any way. 09.09.09 M9 was announced.
This is Bruce Gilden:

Quote:
Being a street photographer and working in crowded areas where the people are generally moving quite fast, the M9 camera is ideal for me.
https://www.leica-camera.blog/2013/0...-magnum-miami/

I'm nowhere near to his crowds and him. But I took M-E on the streets and else.

09.09.19.

I was using only Summarit 35 2.5.

10.09.19
