I just want to shout a "Thank You" to Stephan for doing the Postcard #11 Project and to all those who joined up early and posted on the thread to keep it on the main page, so I would see it and overcome my hesitation to join in too. 31 cards have arrived here in western Canada. Some catch the traditional spirit of "the wish you were here" postcard, others are almost surreal in their flights of fancy, but everyone is fantastic. A few friends saw my card display the other day and thought it was the best "social media" idea they had ever seen. I'm so glad I came along for the ride.

I must travel across the country for some family stuff and won't be home for a few weeks, so I'll have to live with anticipation for awhile as the rest of the cards arrive.

Thanks again, everyone.

I have received a good 32 at this point. Hopefully mine should have started arriving by now, as the final ones went out early last week.

Two more postcards arrived today, including one from ninjin. I'm up to 35 received!

p.s. Has anybody with a smartphone tried the QR code I included on my postcard? I wonder if it works, or if the code got mangled or postmarked over en route.

Just did: It works, I think: takes me to your Flickr.com stream and lets me browse it. Is that what it's supposed to do?

Yes, a bit of shameless self-promotion. Glad it works!

USPS bar code covers part of the QR code, but it still works.

Japanese whisky looks good; the Yamazaki single malt is a favorite of mine. I don't know about that bottle of "coffee whiskey."

Coffey refers to the type of still used in the distillation process, rather than the caffeinated beverage. Unfortunately, due to the popularity of Japanese whisky, Nikka (and others like Suntory) can't keep up with demand. Nikka's Coffey Grain and Coffey Malt bottlings are being "temporarily suspended". Thankfully, a lot of retailers, including some Trader Joe's, still have some stock.

I'm up to 36 cards now, including Analog Angler's beautiful cyanotype card, and excluding the Colonel's bonus card.
What a lovely project.

I received Bojan's postcard earlier this week (or late last, I can't remember exactly), and also Brian's card yesterday (or the day before).

Thanks Godfrey! Sorry it took me a little while to get cards out this year, it's been kind of a hectic spring.

I'm up to 36 cards received, thanks everyone, this is definitely one of my favorite projects and am already looking forward to #12.

Postcards 11

I'm also up to #37 with the fantastic cyanotype of the Tetons by Analog Angler!
Having been away for a few weeks there was a nice stack of cards in the mailbox.

I mailed post cards to 43 participants (including me), including one person who was a late addition. Right now, I've received 39 post cards, so 4 more to come.

A lovely postcard from Scopar Steve just arrived, photo made with the elusive Ferrania P30 film. Very nice! :-)

Just three more to go...

I'm still on 37 including my own and haven't received any cards for a couple of weeks. Hopefully the remainders are delayed in the mail and will turn up soon.

I'm feeling a bit chuffed. I sent a copy of my card to 'The Book Room' and the owner liked it so much he has ordered 100 for the store. Could be the start of a new career .

cheers,
clay

I have received 35 lovely cards, but as we established in project #10, there is someone in Royal Mail or in my building that loves to nick the odd card.

Last card I got was the excellent print from ScoparSteve - curious where the chess game was? I think the card fared better than any others with respect to the USPS sorting machines (except envelopes of course).

Are there any others coming? Not that I want it to end - this has been so much fun.

Cheers,
