So far, I like what I have been seeing in the a7 mod.. Given my main use for the a7 is universal back for legacy lenses..that include both rf and slr lenses as well as one fe lens (35f2.8), I still have around...I have a couple of questions
- how does the mod affect slr lenses
- any issues w/ fe lenses such as my 35f2.8 (this maybe only AF lens I get for this camera)

Thanks
Gary

Thanks, Robert. All the best with your back problems; I know very well how it feels, hence the A7.

Hi Gary,

Any lens designed for film will be better, but as you get longer the difference is more slight.

The FE 35/2.8 (which I do not have), I hear is still very good but perhaps a tad less?

There is a big thread at FM with all the major players, including the guy who got it all going, I would post in there and see if anyone has the FE 35 (which is still the best 35 with the un-modded camera, but many de-centered copies.)

One more to show what happens when you apply the A7 digital zoom full blast to the OMZ 85/2. Not sharp, but useful in a pinch--in this case, high tide when I could not get close enough to the harbor seal haul-out to use 85. So this is approximately 340mm digizoom....

I got a used a7 mkI last Thursday, and went out for a quick round of shooting to check the functionality - seems to be working great with the 50 Summilux ASPH. Then this Sunday when testing my 5x7, I took a dozen or so shots with the A7 as well, here with the 90 Elmarit-M:

I did it. After many agonizing months of trying to save I went out and bought a Sony a7 to use with my Minolta AF lenses.

Now, I have to sell the Sony A700 to help pay for the camera and LA-EA4 adapter!

I hope it provides as many wonderful images as my Ricoh GXR did!
