disclaimer: I don't own any of the Voigtlaender E mount lenses and can't say for sure
- concerning auto exposure I strongly believe that they work just like any other manual lens adapted to a Sony E mount camera.
Focus and aperture are set on the lens. Aperture mode working fine.
And I believe that Phillip Reeves statement that S mode and P mode won't work are partly incorrect, at least if the camera really behaves as with adapted manual lenses:
P mode will act as if in A mode and auto-exposes correctly.
S mode works, camera will auto expose if auto ISO is enabled: Aperture is chosen on the lens, shutter speed via wheel on camera, camera chooses correct ISO to auto expose.
( though of course, with much light during and a fast aperture, S mode, with a shutter speed that is not fast enough, camera can't go lower than lowest ISO and overexposure. )
edit: did some googling:
yes, EXIF goes to the camera, see: https://www.dpreview.com/news/496223...primes?slide=3
another difference to adapted manual lenses: if set so on the camera, the camera automatically engages magnification when focusing ( as with Sony E mount lenes when set to manual focus ): https://voigtlaender.com/e-mount.html
focus shift indeed seems to be a problem: https://admiringlight.com/blog/revie...sic-e-mount/3/
can't get conclusive information if the camera stops down the lens at release
