Is anyone up for another One Camera One Lens Challenge?

The last one was fun but a little 'light on' entry wise ... I think Xmas and New Year was not a smart time to run it with all the other commitments people have at this time.

The format seemed easy to follow and the scoring system worked effectively at the end but any suggestions to improve it without getting overly complicated would be appreciated.

The previous rules for the last one were as follows:

2008 – 2009 14 Day One Camera One Lens Challenge.

Proposed Rules and Schedule.

Commencing midnight 17th December 2008

Ending midnight 31st Dec 2008 (New Years Eve)

Camera Choice/one only … open but this is the only camera body you can use for leisure (non pro) photography for the stated period.

Lens Choice/one only … open but no zooms and also the only lens you can use for leisure (non pro) photography for the stated period.

Film/Memory Card Usage … as much as you want as often as you want.

Flash Usage … yes.

Cropping … mild cropping is ok but not landscape to portrait or vice versa.

Subject Material … portraits/landscapes/street whatever you want within reason.

Images To Be Submitted … three maximum, less if you think you’re that good you can win this thing with one.

The gallery for hosting your input will be closed on the 14th January at midnight … this allows you two weeks to get yourself organised after the 14 day shooting period ends and get your files/submissions uploaded. If you don’t think you can manage this, don’t partake!

A judging system for this competition is yet to be decided … I’m open to suggestions but I favour a small panel of judges made up of respected experienced forum members with suitable qualifications. Volunteers for this arduous task would receive my eternal gratitude … but not much else! Stephen has suggested just using the system of members voting for their favourites in the gallery.

The winner/winners will receive the plaudits and constant admiration of fellow forum members for some time to come … but in reality, little else! We are just here for the fun of it after all.

So it's just a matter of deciding dates and fine tuning the rules if need be!

I'll give it a go this time. Easier now that I've sold a few lenses!

But I might need to think about which camera to use!

Of course I'm in, if I only get my computer problems sorted out. I just bought a new scanner, and my eMac gave up on me.

i would have been a definite, but i'm now a maybe/kind of....

my dead Epson leaves me with only the M2. i could easily commit myself to only one lens -- just not sure if i'm going to get 1 keeper, let alone 3

when are you planning on starting?

Real gentlemen ... will always wait for a lady Cam!

Didn't you know that?

Seriously ...I was thinking of an official start to the fourteen days somewhere around the end of the month.

So ... does anyone have plans to use something obscure!

I'm torn between my Kiev II with J-12 or an old 1933 Voigtlander Brilliant scale focus TLR.

if I can solve my Mamiya C33 shutter release problem, it's going to be the C33. Else, M6TTL with the Canon 50/1.5.

After I got the M6, I have barely had time to go and shoot. *sigh*

I think I'll have a go at this (barring disasters) - the clocks go forward at the end of the month here in the UK, so more daylight to play with

Now then, - which camera/lens to use ?.........

Anything that'll handle the vibration of a British parallel twin I guess!

You just need to "tune into the vibes" - once you're in sync it's not a problem

Rarely use the Summitar. Should I put it on the R2A or the Fed 1? Or maybe the Zorki 3C...nah, that's whimping out. It's got to be the Fed 1.

I'm in. My FED-2 is my last rangefinder, so if we're limiting it that will be my choice!

If not I may use my newly-repaired OM2S with the Zuiko 35/3.5.

Question - This is for leisure only correct? Because I have to shoot with different lenses for professional use.

I should be able to do it this time. Count me in!

and....it would give me an incentive to finally figure out the picture posting here too.

Just have to pick a camera/lens... hmm.
Too many choices means it's probably time to sell some more stuff I think...

Your choice Mick ... I'm thinking seriously of using a little 1933 Voigtlander Brilliant scale focus TLR and Pitxu reckons he's using ........ well I'm not sure how to describe what Pitxu's using actually!

[edit] It was actually open last time as far as I was concerned ... Stephen disagreed but what does he matter!

I've only got the Zorki rf at the mo. I could use that and either the Jupiter 8 or the 15 Heliar (will it focus?) or an slr - probably digital.

If work doesn't obstruct I'll have a go.

I'd like to use my Rolleiflex if it is back from its CLA in time - but that is 3 weeks away.

If we start next week, I will be using my R3M with 50 nokton.

Though this all assumes my professors dont pile on tooooo much work.

I was going to play last time but the weather was so crappy in those two weeks I don't think I burnt a single frame. Our clocks are already set forward & now there is much more sunlight to play with. So I'm in this time.
