Pretty well what I saw with mine in non-scientific tests. Wide open centre performance is amazing, as are the edges. The centre picks up a tick but its already so good you cant really see improvement past f4 (overall contrast rises though, giving the impression of more bite). The edges improve gradually up to f8, but there is nothing to be gained by stopping down further.

Amazing lens and at 120g, the A7/R + 35 combo weighs 100g less than the M240 body alone.

Both the Sony Zeiss lenses (35 and 55) are looking sweet!! Glad to see primes were produced first. I can just imagine the 24-70 f4 will likely be just as good although a wee bit slow - but that's the "cost" I guess of making lenses for this smaller format.

Looking at the 35mm specifically; it's rather interesting to see how the "overall" score at DxO Mark compares to other lenses - that little lens is sitting there with the same overall score as Nikon's 24mm f1.4 G, the Zeiss 35mm f2 lens that's on the RX1, and Canon's 35mm f2. I am looking forward to eventually getting this lens !!

Cheers,
Dave

Dave, just be aware that as with other lenses, there are decentered copies out there. My first needed to be returned (it was pretty bad).

Thanks for the heads up - I'll have to buy local and test it out first..

Cheers,
Dave
