V1 is a nice camera. Surprisingly good at the typical day to day snapshots.

We just sold my wifeís V1 kit last winter. She wanted something with a tilt screen... you know for selfies.

V1 held up great against my M8 on our Chicago trip a few years back. We really only shared the V1 photos and videos... that good.

Olympus Pen S, 3cm f/2.8 version. Half frame, aka the true "classic" APS-C format, before the proprietary cartridges, and before digital crop sensors! Going to experiment with some "Pen-o-ramas".

This is pretty much what I read: it's the little camera that tried! I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do, and then perhaps investing in an FT-1 adapter and a few AF-S lenses for long ranging!

I just bought an 8mm f/2.8 Rokinon fisheye for my Fuji X mirrorless camera. However, someone stole if off my front porch before I could retrieve it. The U.S. Post Office and eBay were no help to me.

Too many things - DJI Mavic Pro drone for work, a replacement 24-70/2.8 Nikon lens (also for work), plus a Camcraft Z-Housing (modified Visoflex III by Norman Goldberg with a fixed pellicle mirror), 125mm f/2.5 Hektor lens for Visoflex, 400mm f/5.6 Telyt with Televit for Visoflex, plus a used Gitzo tripod, Manfrotto tripod head for work, a set of replacement spike feet for my Bogen 3058 tripod (20 years of solid work finally took its toll), and I think that’s about it!

A couple of very old and quite unusual Kodaks:

-the most tiny camera ever made by Kodak, the 00 Cartridge Premo. It used 35mm film way before the commercial Leicas, in 1916. But this 35mm film way like a miniature 120 format, without perforations and with back paper. The camera works, but lacks one of the spools, so it could be difficult (but not impossible) to take pictures with it again.

-a No.1 Panoram Kodak, that still works, more or less.

hello all, my first post.
I’ve just picked up a quite nice YashicaMat LM for a price I am very happy with. Next on my list is a Ricoh 519 which I think is the model my father had and I last saw/used in 1981 or 1982. Some darn fool threw it out the camera in the cleanup of dad’s stuff. seeking info on the ricoh rangefinder models is how I found the forum, so it’s not all bad, but still, grrr!

It's amazing how so many people cannot see the collector value/usability in their parent's cameras. Op shops, garage sales, sunday markets and even antique centres can and often do, come up with real bargains. Maybe you could try these (assuming you've been down the ebay route).
Good Luck,
David

thanks David, I have been searching ebay for a while. The 519 seems uncommon. Yep will try some op shops too and thereís a weekly flea market near us. I think I may apply some percussive maintenance to my brotherís nostrils for tossing the camera out. :-)

I found a long lost 35mm point-and-shoot Olympus Stylus 105, which has a built-in flash and a 5.6/38-105 zoom lens. It was packed in a bag within a larger bag which was in storage for a number of years. It's brand new and today I bought a 5 dollar Ultra 123 battery. The camera seems to be working perfectly. I'll have some pictures developed and share when I am back in Vietnam.

Lovely cameras, presuming the one you bought is in good shape. I've always liked the CL, had three of them over the years. They're handy and great to carry, the Summicron-C 40 and Elmar-C 90 made for it are both excellent lenses too.

Good luck with it, Helen!

A Fujinon CM/W 150mm 5.6 lens for the damn near brand new, still in the original box Cambo 45N 4x5 camera I found at the local goodwill for a whopping 8 dollars.

Very excited to finally make the 4x5 plunge. I also bought some film holders and a cambo lens board but those aren't quite as exciting as the lens/body.

A wonderful very cheap Canon P in "for parts" condition with missing rewind knob. The curtains are in great condition, the camera needed only a few drops of oil and a new rewind knob. I made a new one out of a piece of aluminium.

I found a Vivitar 28mm 2.5 (Kiron made, Minolta mount) lens at one of my regular thrift stores...
Paid $15 for it...heavy and old school...what's not to love...
I had to rescue this lens as they placed the price tag right on the front element...

How funny! Leica CL with 40mm Summicron f2 and a Leicaflex SL2, both from the Leica Shop at the Leitz Park in Wetzlar. The latter came with box, mint case and instruction manual, with the Leica magazine from the release date. Nice touch. The SL2 is near mint and reasonable, the CL in great condition but not warranted and at about half market price with the lens.

Voigtlander Bessa L + 21mm Color Skopar Snapshot (Screw mount) + Viewfinder

I already have a Leica M5 and a couple of M mount lenses but the widest I have is 35mm and I just had to try the Bessa L because of its external meter display. The body is cheap (~$100), and the lens can be used on the M5, too as well as the Ricoh GXR, so I reckoned it was a good investment.

Hi,

Lucky you. FWIW, when Leica moved away from MK Newton Ellis and Co took over care of my CL.

I bought this earlier this week:

Click on thumb for full size pic.

It's a little short on info, such as what the exposure mode is or how to switch on the meter, and doesn't seem to do its "selling" job as well as it could, eg. there are 3 lenses available and instead of making that out to be a really good thing throughout the brochure, in one bit they say "The SL26 has One wide angle and One Telephoto lens" a bit like telling a kid they can have "One chocolate out of the chocolate box and One biscuit out of the biscuit tin", a bit limiting.

Bought the Voigtlander 35mm f2, used, for a great price, from the Head Bartender, thanks Steven!
Also a double handful of reusable metal 35mm film casettes from Freestyle after finding the plastic Kalt brand less than satisfactory.

Good to know. The absence of a functioning meter in the CL (I think it's pretty pointless me buying another battery adaptor to check) is of no concern, and I'm shooting a test roll to check all the speeds. It's a nice little camera, smaller and lighter than my other Leicas, which will see it be used more, and the 40mm focal length lens is perfect for my uses, as well as equipped with a focus tab.

So much film to develop when I get home...Thank heavens my R lenses are all back in the UK!
