W/NW - Dull And Somber Images of Winter...

It is that time of year (at least in part of the world) when winter days are short and photo opportunities seem to be minimal. There are still images out ther waiting to be taken so let's see your shots of the down side of winter.

I acquired a new (to me) M42 Industar 50-2 50/f3.5 lens over the weekend and just had to try it out. This shot of a bunch of pots and hanging baskets in our garden reminded me that spring is not too far away. Taken with my (evil?) K20D and the little Industar. I'm liking the way the lens works--although it looks really funny on the DSLR...

Taken on a grey day by the Thames.

I took this one about ten days ago, using a Zeiss Ikon, 50mm C-Sonnar, HP5+ 400asa ID-11 1+1.

It has a thirties feel to it almost...

In Provence, the winter lights are blue. Cold blue, but blue nonetheless.

I have not been to Provence in the winter, but I have been there in mid-March. Yes, the skies were a gorgeous blue; and they were a clear and cloudless blue, so that direct, warm sunlight was available. I have not seen a more beautiful light!
