"Do LOVE the Clarity of the Tonal Range and Crispness of the DP's"

I agree Helen.
Ive found the Grain slider in SPP helpfull, although I havent' shot higher than ISO 400.
I haven't even thought about my film cameras since receiving the DP2M :-)

ISO 1600 in flat pm light, no PP:

-->works like street cam, no?

However, at iso 800 (still bw, I rarely shoot color with the dp2m) with a greater range between highlit sky and deepshadowed trees cap, I got horizontal banding in the foreground darks in several exposures...

I think the Quattro used as a monochrome camera maybe better than the Merrill.. If u are looking for a sd I using Quattro however, no one is sure when they are going to release that upgrade. Sigma stated they were pushing for early summer for dp2q release.

In digital, outside of the Leica monochrom, the tonal quality is the best.

Good luck
Gary

There's just something so wrong about a daffodil in black and white.
DP2M with Nikon 3T diopter

plus a Lenten Rose (hellebore) to honor the monochrome floral theme of recent posts (forgive me if I posted this earlier):

So I have returned to Sigma, recently purchasing a DP1X after having had the original DP1 and later, the DP2M. I just started into my first dump and had forgotten how brutally sharp these things can be, especially during a bright Carolina afternoon. They almost deliver an HDRness to the files in these conditions -maybe a bit of my processing does not help?
