Business / Philosophy of Photography Taking pics is one thing, but understanding why we take them, what they mean, what they are best used for, how they effect our reality -- all of these and more are important issues of the Philosophy of Photography. One of the best authors on the subject is Susan Sontag in her book "On Photography."

Thanks for the comment.

I was beginning to wonder if it was just me that found it interesting!!

Platon has photographed world leaders, people in authority, those with power and those who've been abused by power. Regardless of whether one likes his images or not, it's a fascinating presentation, and very interesting to learn how those with power behaved in front of his camera, and how he went about photographing them.

His portraits feature in the 20th anniversary edition of WIRED. He has two amazing portraits of Zuckerberg.

Just watched the video now. What a fantastic communicator. He emphasises the power of humility. Impressive man.
