Aperture priority with MInolta Hi-Matic F???
Have a nice small Minolta Hi-Matic F. Generally Im happy with the camera and the image quality, but still miss the manual exposure control.
The camera provides programmed automatic exposure of the f-stop and shutter speed from 1/4 at f2.7 to 1/724 at f13.5. Also has a Guide Number feature, for taking photos with an electronic flash you set the guide number of the flash, and the camera provides the adequate exposure.
So my question is, whether there is a connection between the guide number setting and the aperture value? Or with other words in case you connect a flash to the camera does each GN value you set correspond to a certain aperture value?
If so, (and presuming that the automatics still sets the appropriate shutter speed) ... well... congratulations, here we have the aperture priority mode (just remember to keep the flash turned off).
Sounds logic to me... but still does anybody have an idea if there is some reason in this? Or can somebody propose a decent test to check if its true or no...
Sorry if the topic had recently been discussed, and thanks to everybody who will respond...
